To upgrade to the Camry caliper... I really don't understand this either.
I think They're saying you use a 7th gen Caliper BRACKET with a
    Camry CALIPER combination.

There are 2 versions of the dual piston brakes. MR2 turbo 91-92.5 AND Mr2 turbo 92.5-95. Which version works better? I know if you go too big in the front you'll need to upgrade proportioning valves I think

The 91-92 uses 258mm rotors in front
the 93-95 uses 275mm rotors in front

My buddy has a set of 93-95 turbo calipers but before i install them i will be gathering information on it.
I know the MR2s are heavier in the rear so the proportion on the corolla might be thrown off right?

right. Too big increase in the front will throw off the balance of the system. The rear will engage too soon

So uh, sorry if this was answered elsewhere but is there a tried and proven upgrade to our front calipers (besides the big brake upgrade)?

I found a guy local parting out a MR2 turbo 91, i measured the bracket and the bolt points and they are the same as ours....only reason i did not buy them was because he had told me $80 for both over txt and when i arrive he said $80 each :please:

ae111 is a direct bolt on, 1nicetrd mentions you can buy them straight from rock auto...a link would of been nice.....not sure under what car to look under

Okay so I'm trying to sort through all this info lol
    • I saw that CorollaGT did the Camry caliper upgrade but I think there is a little confusion with the translation which he hasn't cleared up (at least not in this thread). If you have an 8th gen Corolla, you need to buy a 7th gen caliper? Irvin might be right in having to use a 7th gen Corolla caliper bracket with the Camry caliper.
    • Apparently the ae111 dual piston caliper is another option which can be purchased at rock auto. Like cBass mentioned, a link would have been nice lol This hasn't been tried by anyone has it?
    • The calipers from an 91-92.5 or from 92.5-95 MR2 Turbo are the same as an ae111 dual piston caliper. Apparently, they're direct bolt on as well. But no one has tried this yet either, right?
So, do I have the correct info, everyone? Thanks guys!

1st. im still wondering why you need a 7th gen bracket if both 8th and 7th gen brake and suspension is basically THE SAME...i know mack has the camry calipers, maybe he can shed some light.

2nd. ill keep looking for them

3rd. only 91 and 92 turbo....on/after 93 the mr2 got bigger brake setup so no good

    Thanks cBass.
BTW, the 7th gen and 8th gen share the same suspension/brake components right? I'm sure most of you are already aware but Kiwi/Sharpshooter did a dual piston caliper upgrade from an AE101 as well as a 275mm rotor upgrade (seen here). Don't know if can be applied to the 8th gen but I figured I'd throw it out there. Where did the larger rotor come from?

Doing some more research...so Sharpshooter used the larger AE101 Super-Strut 275mm rotors and AE101 Super-Strut dual piston calipers. According to the parts number on the caliper, the AE101 dual piston caliper IS the same as the 91/92 MR2 Turbo caliper. Notice the matching Toyota parts numbers, 38T25 AISIN, in the pictures below.

    Sharpshooter's car:

91 MR2 Turbo caliper I found on eBay:

Too bad you can't find the 275mm rotor in the states. I found some aftermarket ones on eBay from international sellers but with the shipping costs it wasn't worth it.
