You might want to ask DOT as well. He had it replaced on his 8th gen at the time.

Yeah, it was about 150. I don't know how long it took them because my car was at the shop at that time and I just told them to replace the windshield. But it shouldn't take them more than an hour and you should be able to drive it after they install it.

took them 45 min to replace it and they told me to wait 45 min to an hour to let it cure and set up, but it was kind of contradictory because he told me to drive it home and let it cure there so im guessing the extra hour is just a precaution

Actually, when I decide to do it, I would pay in cash and bypass insurance altogether. It's just easier.

Then why pay for insurance, big balla? :superconf

Its really not that hard. You call up your insurance company, and they tell you how much theyre going to pay.

It was easier than I thought (dealing with my insurance company).
    Here's what I did:
    1. Call insurance to fil glass claim.
    2. After filing the claim, they recommend you some auto glass professional locations near you (that they are affiliated with, of course), but you can opt for your own location that you think is most convenient for you which is what I did.
    3. So if you decide to find your own place, you look for a place to get it done at and get the name of the place and phone number.
    4. Call back insurance and tell them the claim # so they know what you're talking about and tell them you found a place - they ask for the name of the place and phone #.
    5. They call that place and give them a work order and tells em your name and what kind of car you have.
    6. You can contact the place within a reasonable amount of time and make appointment or just go there.
    7. Get it repaired/replaced then they bill the insurance directly.

And you're done. Just make sure the place you want accepts insurance billing and of course warranty for the windshield. I haven't completed all the steps yet, I'm still up to step 6. I just have to go there this Monday and get it done. Took off work already and going to Central Park with the gf after that :)
