so that pretty much means never wear your seatbelt because after all, its not a law or anything.

TheOne- sure you were in an accident where it may have been better to not have the belt on, but lets face it, a Large majority of the time your injuries in a crash will be MUCH worse if not wearing a seatbelt.

For those that dont wear them, complain all you want about freedom to choose. It doesnt change the fact that you're idiots for not doing something thats proven to save your life, especially given the chance of injury driving your car vs. other activities.

National awareness and enforcement lately...so who wears it, and who doesnt?

To those that dont, why not?

All the time. I also make all my passengers wear them. I have been involved in two accidents in which I feel a seat belt saved me.

    yeah...forgot to mention passengers...

in my first accident, i had a carload of passengers. my front seat passenger nearly went through the windshield, because he WASN'T wearing his seatbelt.

even now, before police started stepping up enforcement in MD/DC, the car doesn't move until all belts are buckled...no exceptions. mom's gotten CRAZY pissed at me for that rule - she hates putting her belt on right away, and always wants to leave at the last minute. if we're late, WHO CARES?!? at least we got there in one piece...

It is a freedom of choice. Being stupid is your choice.

    Wear your seatbelt.

Been in 2 accidents with out seatbelts and I've learned my lesson.
    1) Rolled in a truck
    2) head on collision

    3) My wife survived a roll over in my spyder to which I give thanks to God for giving her a second chance.
She did have her seatbelt on and I installed an aftermarket rollbar because I really didnt trust that car just incase.....and It paid off

boy this is a touchy subject. well lets see i have been in 2 very big crashes. and wasn't wearing my seatbelt. and i walked away from both without a scratch. on one of thoes accedents i truly believe that if i did have it on i would definetly not be here today. but i must also add that i have been very close to getting into an accident because of my seatbelt many times. like at least 20+. usually because it is very difficult sometimes to put the darn thing on when your driving and see a cop. or becuase the seatbelt resricts your movement. the only time i like to put my seatbelt on is for 2 reasons #1 when i see a cop #2 when i know i am going to be traveling at a high rate of speed like anything over 90mph.

i dont know about that one. i mean lets say i got tboned without a belt on, i figure i would fly to hte other side, and smash my head on window, door, or ceiling of the car. but like e said, i'd probably die anyways from a driver side tbone.

ok im not drunk now. I go through 3 5th's a week. The only times I wear mine is when my wife drives or when I am messing with some of the ricers around here. Like I tell my wife, when its my time its my time. I know about death, I was in 82nd and was in iraq for 7 months until I took some srapnel from an rpg and I lost 3 of my friends. Sorry off topic. As for being a retard an idiot well guess I am so be it.

always wear mine. Always have. Feels weird not to. Only accident I've been in, the seatbelt kept me from going through the windshield (I wasn't driving). Seatbelt meant the difference between a bruised stomach + chest and probably dying from hitting the windshield at 30mph.

And to the guy saying he's been in all these crashes where the seatbelt would've killed him - exactly what kind of crashes does the seatbelt harm you other than those that end with the vehicle submerged? I can think of no other kind of accident where a device that holds you in place would be a BAD thing

cliff's notes: if you don't wear your seatbelt, you're an idiot. Come up with all the reasons you want. Still doesn't change it. Just like riding a motorcycle with no helmet. Already dead, just too fucking stupid to lay down and stop moving.

A hard t-bone on the drivers side can kill you if you have seat belt on. I was t-boned by a cement truck and a f150, it knocked me over to the passenger side. If my window was down it might have been a different story. Both times they ran a redlight.

faln I done that when I was messed up. Drinking is the only thing that can get my friends faces and their bodys out of my head. The hell I went through over there. Some of you will never know.I am trying not to blow my head off. I am 28 with a wife and 3 kids and I am not able to work anymore. I have been fighting with the doctors. They are trying to put me in a crazy home. I am sorry if I piss anybody off. When I am drunk I dont take few words to well. Like when you and I got in it.I just don't have any friends any more that why I come here.
