They are OEM replacement tail lights. Look OEM. If they are DEPO, then inside of the small letters that say Toyota on the lens, it should say DEPO.

Im trying to find out if the DEPOs can be opened up without cutting. OEM Toyotas can not be opened up without cutting. From what I heard, someone that had a VW was able to open the DEPOs with heat but his OEM VWs were plastic welded. Just difference in how each is made and assembled ;)

I think almost all altezzas are plastic welded.

There are people who do LED retrofits in their altezzas. Check out the LED forums at hidplanet.com Start with something small and simple like your 3rd brake light since its easy to disassemble and require no PWM then move on up from there.

Well, if someone has Depo taillights on the 8th gen, LED taillights will be possible. I wonder how that could turn out? The brake light is a slanted bar shape. I wonder if that can be turned into a circle?

I have the OEM style red and white eBay taillights. I looked for DEPO but all i found was a number on the lights. I am pretty sure they are made by the same company that made those clear corner lights. I think TYC. Anyway to tell by just looking if they are plastic welded or glued?

Sometimes on plastic welds, around the edge where the lens and the housing meets, youll see like a bead of caulk like material and it should be the exact same color as the housing. I dont think you can see it on the side that is facing the trunk lid but it is possible on the other sides.

You can always dremel it from the inside out. Just make sure to seal it properly later.

Its not fun lol, trust me I speak from experience. And if you cut away, the lens will sit just slightly in more cus you took away a small amount of material. Either way I dont plan on dremeling, done it on a spare set, wont do it again.

What about aftermarket euro taillights? Are they plastic welded as well?

From what I understand most of them are. I could be wrong on a few different ones if they are made by different companies but most are plastic welded. Either way I want oem looking lights and DEPOs are my last option. So no one has DEPOs here? I guess Ill have to buy a set and hope it turns out the best :(
