I'm a night dispatcher for a local Intermodal trucking company. 2PM to 4AM, 4 days on, 4 days off. Can't argue with the pay, but this job is so boring I want to shoot myself on a constant basis.

Night dispatcher is hardly a fancy job. :D

I'm like a mini version of god. I sit here with my feet on the desk and tell people where to go and what to do all night.

    It's DULL. Pays good though.

What's the coolest ride you've ever parked?

Wow, someone revived the thread. Since the last time I posted, I'm about to graduate with a BS in Cellular Biology. I'll be applying for a Master's program in Neurophysiology while working for a lab research company hopefully. Then afterwards, a PhD maybe. :)

EE's make about the same amount starting. Around 40-60k. My dad is an EE, as is my uncle and my aunt. The salary only goes up from there. Of course, with a Master's you can get over 100k a year no problem. The only gripe is that many jobs are being outsourced. I myself was an EE major, but worrying about jobs getting outsourced, I switched to Biology. Hopefully I'll be able to do what I want to do, stem cell research.

Update to my employment...I now work at a casino in the wine warehouse. I deliver wine to the restaurants and stock/inventory the wine. It's an all right job. I work 4 days a week, 10 hr shifts so I'm off for 3 days. I am going to school for Sociology right now...can't make up my mind on what I want to do yet. :( I was wanting to go into pharmacy. But, we will see...

    haha good point.

Pharmacy really isn't all it's hyped up to be. I was originally going into that field myself, but it's really competitive and school is really expensive, if you can get in. You need a really high GPA. And the end result? Counting pills into a bottle for the rest of your life. It pays great, but is it really the dream job? LOL :D
