My brother just bought a 7th gen, and the windshield washer fluid button inside the car doesn't squirt. Would it be possible to just replace the stalk for it and have it work? I have no way of testing to see if his pump works or not...

Did you start with the simplest thing and see if there's fluid? I hope so lol.
And to see if the pump is working, have one person push the button while another listens right at the tank under the hood. I can hear mine without the radio, so you should be able to hear it as well.

how do you know it's the button not working? It could be a relay/fuse blown, bad wire connection, etc.

You don't pull the whole stalk towards you like in the 8th gen?

I dont know what method you use to activate it, but when ever you press the switch you should clearly hear the motor activate and start pumping even if its empty. If your missing the button and you have no way of testing it then thats your first step, your gonna need a button anyway. Otherwise check the switch, relay, if there is one. Otherwise your pumps out.

There is no switch. It is a little push button, unlike ours where you pull it, and the button fell off when I pushed it in the other day...meaning it was never connected at all. So I have to try to find a wiper stalk somewhere...

    this is for a 7th gen btw...its a 97

They might be interchangeable with the 8th gen ones, I know a lot of parts are... Can you temporarily try to put yours in and at least test if the pump works?

If you don't mind. I don't think its interchangable because his is a push button, mine you pull the thing forward.....I didn't see any at the junk yard here.

We have an "all toyota" junk yard ......but its only for trucks or suvs wtf

I'm off Friday I'll go in and get one for you. Also might as well shout out that I have access to 7th gen tail lights too, quality looks good, the car just showed up a couple weeks ago.
