    Hey,

Been a while since I was on the forums. Is anyone on here that I know still? I was surprised to see that Corolla Customz and VVT-i.net are no longer around. And for those who do know me, to answer the question you probably have... Dark Angel is unfortunately dead and gone. I really should have spent the extra money to send my block up to Darton to have their sleeves installed instead of having the local machine shop use their own. The car ran wonderfully at 300+WHP, easily beating stock WRXs and requiring an upgrade to Z rated tires as the wheels would spin whenever shift gears (yes, I was running it with my beefed up automatic transmission and torque converter.)

Anyway, I hope some of you reply back. I'm curious to see what everyone's been up to. Also, I'll be putting some parts from my car up for sale once I can get an idea on how much to sell them for. I still have the TRD 16" rims in excellent condition, the TRD lip wing, the TRG front strut bar, a carbon fiber engine cover (1 of 2 ever produced) a pair of yellow tinted S fog lights, a rebuilt alternator (used for 1 month before I upgraded to a high output alternator), a plastic 1ZZ-FE intake manifold with throttlebody, and a 93-01 Hayes Manual and Official Toyota Corolla 2001 Repair Manual (the one that Toyota's mechanics use). If anyone is interested, make me a reasonable offer. I would rather these parts find their way back into the community instead of disappearing off to some random person from eBay or Craigslist.

Woah, it's Vamp! I figured you'd just completely moved on and forgotten about us haha. It's a shame you didn't keep your site up, it was really well used by everyone.

Gosh, it's been so long, you probably don't remember me.

Gold94Corolla, I think I remember you. Yeah, I kinda miss my site, but that was up on the servers from 2 IT jobs ago. Now I'm so busy working that I don't have time for any hobbies that doesn't involve computers. No time to mess around with cars or even engage in a friendly airsoft game. Anyway, one of the sleeves failed and killed the engine. Shortly after that, I put another engine in (3rd times a charm, right?) and finally converted it to a 5 speed manual. Last year, I traded her in for an automatic 2011 Corolla S because I needed something reliable for my current job... god do I miss my manual. I'm hoping to pickup a second car that's a stick for weekend fun.

Well you're in luck. I just checked all three of my computers and found a backup copy of my website from 05.10.2005 and it looks to be complete. I'll see if I can get authorization to throw the site up on one of the web servers at work.

That would be cool if you could put up a new site (of the old site).... it would be such a blast from the past!

Man though it's been so long... who else would you know? Even I was just coming in when you were going out back in 2005.

It's just one of those things... lulz - keep in mind, if the site is up, i'm always somewhere lurking since i host it. :) I think we're due for an overhaul here shortly on this thing though. been working some ideas out the last couple of months, still need to round up some of the crew to discuss one of these days...

Why does it need an overhaul? Or rather, what part. I really like the software that we use, this is my favorite forum setup. It's brilliant.

I personally like the last setup that we had, but I'm not saying this setup isn't good. Just a personal preference I guess. I do notice some slowness on this setup. But that is to be expected with any setup :)

I've ran tad quicker forums but this software isn't bad. Don't see why most places don't use phpbb over vB though.
    I hate vB.

From what sharpshooter said you can change the layout of TN to reduce load times and spam/ads.

I did that but it didn't get it to load any faster. I can use an ad blocker and that works a bit better

You have to customize your ad blocker to block all the panels, frames, scripts.... I have a very basic TN layout now with only what needs to be shown.

Oh, and supposedly they changed things there for their 10-year anniversary to make it faster. The only thing I noticed was a spiffy heading picture.
