you also have to realize those prices are list price..........If you go to a decent dealership or order from an online dealer site you won't pay that much.

My TRD Japan clutch cover has a list price of $347 but can easily be purchased for about $230

Forget all other dealerships. Most of us on M.O. use this guy for TRD and OEM parts.

Ted Roach at Sterling McCall Toyota in Houston, TX.....1-800-392-3341. Tell him you were referred to him buy someone from Matrixowners.com.

Not yet they don't... but by the time I can afford one they should be producing them. They already make one for a 1.8... so it shouldn't be too difficult for them to change a few things here and there. That one lists at $3,000 and can be installed for $600 ;)

Your kidding right? the 2zz compression is 11:1. A supercharger would blow up that motor.

TRD has already built a 2zz Supercharger. They had it on a Matrix XRS at the 2003 Cleveland Auto Show, it was lime green and was used as a pace car at some race. It had low compression pistons and produced 240 some hp. If TRD does mass produce this Supercharger I'm sure it'll require the use of low compression pistons.

That was a Jackson Racing S/C, trust me. I got to sit in that car and stick my head in the engine bay and read "Jackson Racing" on the S/C, lol.

Won't be made either, that car had over 20K into it (dry sump oil, fully built motor with new sleaves, race tranny, huge Brembro brakes, coilovers, etc..............

That S/C won't be made, sorry. Least not the Jackson Racing one cause that's what they said :?

They only luck you 2ZZ guys have is the Elise market

i know there's no TRD s/c for the 2zz, i'm saying if u do some work to the s/c for the 1zz u might be able to make it work with the 2zz

MIGHT being the key word here

It's actually 11.5:1. So, I don't see TRD taking a chance on that one. Mainly because the supercharger, if installed by a dealership, falls under the factory 5/60 powertrain warranty. It would be too risky for Toyota to warranty the engine for that long, with the kind of compression even a small amount of boost would produce, especially with the horse-piss gas the west coast guys have to deal with. As for another company?......well maybe, but good-bye warranty.

Been discussed on MO several times actually. Would be cheaper to have a custom turbo made then make the 1ZZ S/C fit and work properly.

It's a good idea though, just cost too much.

Wow all this discussion just over the fact that I didn't realize the weren't planning to make one for the 2zz... don't mind the new guy...lol. I don't even really know the difference between the 1zz and the 2zz.

If they are going to make a turbo that would be just as good to me :D

...no forced induction for you from TRD. Your best bet is one of the 2ZZ superchargers from Blitz, Trial, or trying to adapt the XS Engineering 2zz turbo kit...otherwise NA tuning is the way to go
