    there's nothing preventing you from moving the shifter into reverse? no locking mechanism? like in auto?

    From my understanding, it's impossible to shift into reverse when the car is moving forward -- I seem to remember reading somewhere that the dog teeth won't engage..

    Did he go to first by mistake? 55mph should still be in second gear, so I don't see why he'd be going to 6th..especially powershifting.
