Toyota pissed over wallpapers featuring their products

    http://torrentfreak.com/toyota-claims-ownership-081114/

"Desktopnexus, a site that provides desktop backgrounds, has been contacted by them. In perhaps one of the most wildly arrogant demands in DMCA history, Toyota’s lawyers are demanding the withdrawal of all wallpapers that feature a Toyota, Scion, or Lexus."

I was reading about this on tech dirt.. and they said that the site owner is willing to comply with their demands, but Toyota won't tell him which wallpapers are needing to be taken down, they have told him that they won't send a DMCA notice if he cooperates... guess he'll be seeing one soon...

actually. its not copyrighted unless you get the papers for it. there is only professional courtesy and intellectual property rights for it. so like most people will think its copyrighter but if they take it to court they cant do a damn thing unless its in writing that they own the copyrights. im writing a paper about intellectual property rights as we speak actually. its neat stuff.

True true. Its a common misconception that the second the shutter clicks that you own it all 100% outright.
In any court system, youll have to show that you went through the legal process to copyright it in order to get monetary compensation for your work.

also, stating you own the copyright, either by a footnote on a website or pasting the copyright symbol on the picture, is considered fraud.

turnitin.com huh? I'm required to use that to submit written reports for classes to check for plagiarism.
