Congrats on the purchase...one thing about storing, read up on the owners manual and do everything the manual recommends before storing the bike.

At the bare minimum, fill up the tank full, put the some fuel stabilizer in the tank, Make sure to get the stabilized fuel to the carbs, and pull the battery out and put it on a trickle charger.

BTW, what year's the bike and how many miles? Also, how much did you pay.

and if you store it make sure to run the bike (not drive it, just let it run) every once in a while so the fluids stay fresh and stuff too u know, like just warm it up and shut it back down.

its a 2004 Ninja 250, just over 2000 mi. I got it for $2200. Maybe in a year or 2, when I get accustomed to streetbikes, I'll probably move up to a 600. But that's in the long run...

You will be very happy you didn't buy that bike new. The break-in period on that bike...is...TORTURE. Just because during it's first break-in...the thing can barely make it to 40 mph. But you don't have to worry about it. :D

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal, were you the first person to look at the bike?

Damn you must live in the 21st century. The motorcycle permit test here is still paper, fill in the ovals style.

it was my first time too having to take a test on a computer. it was actually fun, much more easier and relaxed, hence the quick manner in which I got my permit.

even tho I'm legit on the roads...I'm still waiting for my MSF course before I go on the streets. Right now parking lots and driveway are my friends... ;)
