Wrong you are. They're still like that. They're 409 stainless. Just as shiny. Now with a amber color to them.

I guess $1300 wasn't enough to get good steel

and now my CEL has something to do with the oxygen sensors, so I might have to spend that $1300 all over again for new headers, to replace the cats.

You mean remove the headers and soak them in acetone?????? I'd rather replace them lol. At least they'd be shiny again. But basically, I'm going to wait and see if the CEL will keep coming on with normal driving. They are high-flow cats, so that might be the issue. Could have been bad gas. It might just need a new sensor (though there are 4 O2 sensors lol)

Im sure you can polish the headers after you finish soaking them in acetone.

Acetone should clean all the pipes from all that nasty gas....just recently i noticed my car shoots less black soot out of the pipe when i use 89/91 octane...fucken camel piss anything lower.

but i mean if you got the money, then go for it....just trying to make you save money.

But if I have to remove the headers, might as well put new ones in if I'm going to the effort. And where would I get that much Acetone haha.

But yeah I normally use 93, but the octane was 91 and even 90 in most places.

Well I just need to find out 1) if there is actually a problem and 2) what that problem is, THEN I can figure out what to do about it lol.

    Autocorrect fail.
Anyway you could just get the code read off the car instead of assuming you need new expensive parts. And if you need new cats, just replace the cats. I had a new one welded in for like 100 bucks.

built on the headers or off? because if they are off then you can just cut them and get new ones welded on like mack said.

Except he thinks the headers need to come off to replace the cats, which I'd be very surprised if that's the case.
