This is getting to the point where its comical. I'm sure if we had this argument face to face we could draw a large crowd :D. Now, I don't know how to do the fancy quote every sentance thingy, but let me address your comments to my post (in order from top to bottom:(

-I said I don't race around corners at 60 mph. That race was from a left turn lane, I got to maybe 40 mph my the end of that corner, I beat him around the corner from the outside lane and he had a G35 coupe, some testament to the handling of my SUV (either that, or what a poor driver he is :)).

-You're right, I didn't skim over your post, in fact, I didn't even read it. I saw the thread and immediately posted my defense, because I knew it was targeted toward me.

-Fair enough, I'm just giving you my opinion.

-I'm not saying it would do less damage. The point I was trying to make was that mass doesn't have as much to do in an accident as speed, hence the equation for kinetic energy KE=1/2*m*v^2 (where m is mass and v is velocity -- notice how the v is squared).

-I'm not embarassed at all to take my SUV to the track, because I know I could probably embarass a few cars while I'm there. In fact, I've mentioned to DeebsTundra that I wanted to organize a track night at Bandimere for Toyotas.

-Yeah, yet. Like I said before, I don't race around the streets like Fittapaldi or something everywhere I go. All of my published street races happened in the length of a year, or about two a month average. Not everyday I drive.

-No I haven't been caught. One, because I'm smart. And two, because its not as bad as you're making it sound.

-I would like you to walk outside, get in your crappy American SUV (quick analogy here: 4Runner is to Trailblazer as Corolla is to Cavalier, I know what all of you corolla drivers think of Chevy Cavaliers...) and take a stopwatch with you, go to a track if you feel it's necessary and time yourself getting to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. YOUR SUV IS NOT THAT FAST. Plain and Simple. If by some heinous chance you think it is possible, I'd like you to post a video for all to see.
Additionally, I do have an idea of what I've raced. The only TB model that Chevy offers the 5.3 V8 in is the 2006 2WD short-wheel base TB (your SUV) and the EXT. No one in CO buys a 2WD so I didn't know they started dropping the V8 in the short wheelbase (from more research they're still pretty rare). I know what kind of SUV you drive, and I know what I've raced. I made a mistake and I've corrected it. And I never said that your SUV could beat me, I said it would be close, and it would be close.

-The new Escalade weighs almost 1000 lbs more than the SRT-8!!!, which brings its 0-60 time into the mid to high 6's, yeah, it'd probably beat me but it wouldn't "tear my doors off".

-Well, you're not going to get to, sorry I don't have a vid, and I didn't know the guy, he seemed impressed though...

-I guess I'm not. And I didn't bash Corolla drivers, I said they are "econoboxes", which they are -- doesn't mean you can't make them fast, but let's not act like they're Lexuses here, come on. You can call my car a gas guzzling pedestrian killing shitbox for all I care. BTW, my name's Conner, nice to meet you :)

Hehe...at least it's in debate's and rants now.

Good runs though, keep 'em coming.

Personally, I've got views on both sides. My mom has an '03 4-runner...it's not the 8-cyl, it's the 6...but it does move, and it sure as hell handles 1,000 times better than my truck, simply due to the X-REAS system.

On the other hand...some people are right, it is an SUV. But it's the same principle of when I ran a riced out '03 Eclipse.

Fact of the matter is, you can race anything just about anywhere. :D

I missed this comment before. You are 100% wrong.

Yeah, if you consider only 2006 LT trim levels having the option as rare

    Seems that ya dont :)
