    spark plugs covered in oil

So today i went to check my plugs and cyl 1,2,3 all had oil and heavy crusty carborn build up.cyl 4 just had normal soot.

Ive researched it and it could be everything from worn cam cover seals to piston rings to valve stems.

If its not the cam cover seals this is going to be an expensive problem.
What are your thoughts i have a 4afe engine which has don 245,000km

Yeah first i would start out with a new valve cover gasket. make sure it includes the little gaskets that go around the spark plug area under the valve cover. Felpro makes good gaskets I swear by them :)

The yellow arrow shows the gaskets that go around the spark plug area. Thats where they usually leak if you pull a plug and see alot of oil.

I would change both the gasket and the rings.
