    Why not? Obviously, if I do a lot of snow activities / driving, I'll need a car that can handle it. Mine cannot, because I have no need for it to.

    As for snowboarding up mountains, you don't drive your car to the top of the mountain, a fwd car should get you to any mountain or resort just fine.
