From what I heard, SC300 are notorious for having bad electrical. Have you guys heard anything of the sort?

Actually, DrunkSaru told me. His mechanic sees that problem quite frequently.

One of my coworkers affectionately calls his 1992 SC300 the "Money Pit" - based off of how often he has electrical and fuel related issues. From intermittent electrical problems that magically fix/unfix themselves, to leaky fuel pump/lines, to dead injector driver circuit in the ECM (he's on ECM #3).

Just like any car, there are ones that seem to be more trouble prone than others. Overall - I still feel that the Sc300 has less problems over the entire population of cars compared to other makes, but if you get one that is trouble prone - might be in for a lot of headaches.

I guess I'd just have to look for one with a clean carfax and maintenance record. I could care less about mileage. I would swap a low mileage 2JZ-FSE motor.
