Recruiters are gay, I had one approach me at the unemployment office when I was 18 looking for work and I told him that I was not interested and to go bother someone else, he got in my face and yelled at me in front of the everyone saying that I was worthless scum for not serving and that he should teach me a lesson right in front of everyone. I just walked away and he followed me for another minute or two telling me to look at him like I was some kind of recruit at boot camp or some shit. I finally pulled out my cell phone and told him I was calling the cops and he backed off. I didn't really call the cops but I think I should have :D that might have been interesting. Anyways I'm glad I didn't enlist because I now make close to 100g's a year developing software and it’s a much nicer job then running around an obstacle coarse or getting shot at, however I still enjoy playing airsoft on the weekend ;)

You know though, some recruiters just don't have their heads in the game though. There was one day I was at the mall with one of my friends and the recruiters were out. They would approach everyone, BUT us. We were dressed respectfully and not acting like idiots so we couldnt' figure out why. So after walking around for a while we decide we are going to walk by and say things like "dude, i don't know if i like the way my life is going...I wish I could travel more"....or "......I really want to make something out of my life." And still the guy never approached us. We got disgruntled on our way out after yet another pass and finally turned around and said we were going to joint he Navy....to no reaction.

no because he knows he can get away with it, now if you involve the cops it falls under s different category and it goes against the law and the UCMJ.

hey thats cool and i respect that, i just wanted something differnt than what my family tradition is like im basically the rebel of the family but still got my associates and working towards my bachelors' . there are many reasons but that is one. i will never make as much as i did before even if i am a Sergeant Major i will never make what i am capable of doing.that is why i plan to get out after this unless otherwise noted later on.

There are certian things that recruiters look for and regardless of dress apparel they look for "personality and other characteristics" that i can't even understand.

Yeah yanno I just don't get it. Even back in HS when they would have the recruiters on campus I never once was approached. I remember being one of the few kids walking around w/o something that said Marines or Air Force or w/e just because I was never approached. I guess I can't complain, lol...now if only the same thing applied to the phone recruiters...apparently the more you say no the more they call.

My wife had that issue with recruiters calling her. Since both her brothers served with the Marines, they thought they'd ask her to join too. Her first no was not enough. I think after the 20 millionth no and being cussed out, they got the point.
