So does the turtle wax help hide the scratches?

wetsanding 3000 grit really did. finish that up with 3m rubbing compound, and turtle wax and a microfiber.. great shine, no scratches, just got to remember not to half ass the corners when sanding.

I have a couple patches on my headlights that look scratched up... I was wondering if the turtle wax would help that.

Not sure because my headlights were already so clear After 3m compound. That made the must dramatic difference for sure. I used the wax more as a protection

    Gonna look into it.

So the compound fills the scratches and the wax protects it? Or?..

The wax doesn't really do anything for scratches.... if anything, it fills in the unevenness to make it have a smooth reflection.

But the cutting compound is like an even finer grit sand paper, that's what actually makes the surface smooth.

The sandpaper and compound bring the surrounding area down to the height of the scratch, making it "disappear"

Wax gives it a shinier, protective layer.

You don't need a special bulb or anything, just regular 9006 should work fine with hopefully little glare. Spend good money on a good kit, like from www.theretrofitsource.com, www.xenondepot.com or www.retro-solutions.com. 5000k is a good color, that's what I use!

Yeah the 8.5 gen head lights "can" take HIDs "well" just as long as you keep it 5000k and have well-aligned bulbs.

Just point them down a tad if you're too much of a noob to not retrofit.

What do you mean, you don't like the shape, colors, light output... There are many things you can do. You can do minor and cheap mods, like redding out the turn signals, getting white ones, you could tint them, put LEDs, get aftermarket altezza style lights, or you could mod in the taillights from a completely different car and be custom.

Nobody likes what they have lol. People with the 98-00 lights always switch to the circles lol. And he doesn't post because he doesn't have the corolla anymore
