fuck ps4, not even backwards compatible to ps3
Is PS4 the latest/newest iteration of the PlayStation?
its on topic goldennuts! and yes, a big fail
It's a IF it's on topic... if it's not, then there's no reason to quote the previous page, is there
You obviously don't understand
Explain how the PS4 fails?
what launch title makes it worth buying?
Top post of the page is the biggest issue.
Big Deal, Games are set to come out in 2014 and Im good with Battlefield 4
Neither is the Xbox One
They don't usually do backwards compatibility anymore because of the whole $600 dollar PS3 issue lol
Costs more to make it Backwards Compatible, Get over it
There's nothing to "get over", you asked a question, we answered. Nobody was even talking about the xbox one.
dont take this the wrong way dude, BUT
BIG DEAL? dude, they could have done better, the PS2 launch titles were fucken amazing....insane! TTT, SF ex3 , Midnight club, dynasty warriors, time splitters, unreal tournament...i can keep going.
Why do i have to wait till 2014? a few months after release? gamecube, ps2, original xbox, 360 had awesome launch titles and i did not have to wait a few months after it was released. Now i have to wait to see if something good comes out to actually think about buying the console
Battlefield 4? another one? jeez its just like call of duty what....69? how many they have out? battlefield is doing the same shit, nothing revolutionary. I want something ive never played before that is amazing. Not this crap, that's not a video game.
Fuck the xbox one, same crap n garbage. its a media center tv console, not a video game console. Last i remember when they showed it off i only saw TV and no game play. BUT no one was talking about the Xbox three. i know i said three, Microsoft was sniffing markers when they were deciding the name of the console.
no, the whole $600 was due to the bluray player, remember...this was the cheapest bluray player on the market at the time of release. This is exactly what sony did back with the PS2, cheapest DVD player on the market at the time. New console + New Movie player? WIN That murdered the sega dreamcast because of a dvd player. So that was smart of sony on the price range.
The Nintendo Wii when it came out was only $250 and had a full backwards compatible to gamecube and its accessories. First PS3 had PS2 and PS1 backwards compatibility and it was perfect. Noticed how when sony stop making them people were paying way more to buy the backwards compatibly console? Its because people want it, many home owners own a damaged ps2 or ps1 and they still have a ton of games for it. Sony would of been able to gain this public but now they cant. They wont sell the PS3 forever so that will loose the sale for sony of that person that wants to play ps3 and ps4 games. Now you have to buy a used one from a video game store or flea market and have both ps3 and ps4 consoles.
Gran Turismo 6 just came out for PS3, which is one of the best selling titles ever. So that will keep my ps3 relevant for at least 4 more years until GT7 is released on ps4 only. Only a noob would think that the backwards compatibility made the console expensive. Think about what that is. How is it gonna cost millions in development to make a new system play something old? It wouldn't, because the tech is already there. As it was mentioned, the cost is for the NEW technology. And also people are willing to pay extra for a release console. More power to you, if you have the money/time/desire for the PS4. I will have one someday too, but it's not necessary. There is nothing the ps4 does that I can't live without, or that the ps3 already does.
And of course cbass Doesn't do proper research before posting.
PS4 will be backwards compatible with ps3 games next year.
Also, Microsoft already made it clear that they are going a different direction with the xbox one.
To Complain about launch titles is stupid in my opinion. I'd rather wait until the title is ready, then to force it out at launch when it wasn't ready.
Lastly, you really don't know much about bf4 if you don't think it's different then COD. I don't play either, cause I don't care for them. But bf4 has some crazy new stuff. Especially being able to take out entire buildings and have maps that are never the same twice. Shit is crazy from what I have seen and watched my friend play.
New generation consoles are pathetic these days anyway. everyone knows that PCs are 4 to 5 times more powerful then consoles. Next Gen games have been here for a while. Especially with the release of unreal engine 4
Whats to research? I don't want to sound like some perfectionist all the damn time. buying and downloading PS3 titles from the PSN store does not count...why cant i use my older ps3 game disc that ive already bought? why do i have to buy them over again just to play them on a new console?
Complaining about launch titles is not stupid, in my opinion it should be great. You would want to experience something worth your money but releasing the same games over and over again get annoying. Sony shouldn't release the console too early then, they were still far away from black friday and holiday shopping. Why did the PS2 have great launch titles then? Because they didn't rush? seems like a dumb excuse.
Again, you are wrong. They have a service coming out that you register your PS3 games, and you can play them on the PS4.
And you can't compare PS2 with PS4. The game has changed, HD titles, more complex coding, it takes longer to make games.
YEA that service is DIGITALLY! I just said that on my last post....makes your PS3 game disc useless...
What happens if a household wants to do this said service but does not have internet to begin with?
Ohh everyone should have internet at their house in 2014? So why many people complained about the 24hour internet check on the Xbox then? sure not that many people would be affected this service Sony will offer...
By register you mean have the original game box with the labels on the back correct? last i checked majority of the gamers is the younger generation who tend to loose stuff like lets say a game case. So how would he/she register said game? Or what about the ones who buy the used game without a game case?
Would have made more sense to make it a disc based backwards compatibility.
lets fast forwrd 10-15 years from now when this said service is dropped.....NOW WHAT?
ohh buy a ps3 and stop complaining...OK sure but why didn't sony add PS3 and PS2 backwards compatibility? i mean the drive will play standard DVD and Blueray disc...PS2 is DVD and PS3 is bluray......again, the technology is available at there hands...
WELL if you think about it, the PS2 was new technology for its day and it was amazing so im pretty sure everything was also more complex back in its time. New disc media aswell called the DVD.
Like i give a fuck about HD, you can have the best graphics in the world but if its a shitty game play no one will play it...Give me stick figures with the best gameplay and i'm sure many people would play it rather than the other choice.
Actually. You said that you would have to buy them over again. Which is incorrect. Also, you don't need the box.
Also, the majority of console owners want hd graphics. Your analogy of no one buying good graphics with shitty game play is incorrect.
And the reason people were passed at the Internet check for the xbox one was that if you didn't have Internet you couldn't play Any of your games. Even ones that you have a hard copy of.
I personally don't care if ps4 doesn't have backwards compatibility. If you want to play ps3 games. Go get a ps3.
ohh man, gameplay is #1 when it comes to a video game. Graphics always comes second, you can have realistic graphics but if its a crappy story, terrible controls and bad experience would you consider that a good game just because it has good graphics?
YEA that was the point, not everyone has internet at home so the whole digital PS3 service will be useless to those who do not have internet connection at their house.
ohh man, missing the point.
All I have to say is, I want GT6
I'm not missing the point. I know exactly what I want in a game. Just because you find a game that you think has terrible graphics, crappy store, or controls..doesn't mean someone else will.
And people that don't have internet access to play PS3 games on their PS4...should just stick with playing their PS3 games on their PS3.
Things aren't going to stand still just because people don't have internet access. We are in the age of Technology where 90% of people can get access to the internet. I certainly don't want Sony/MicroSoft/Nintendo to stop creating new things that are cloud/internet based, just because 10% of people can't use it. While, I don't think it was smart for MicroSoft to say "Hey, if you aren't on the internet, you can't play ANY of your Xbox One Games" I do think that the Friend share that was coming out was awesome.
If someone has a PS3, and wants to continue playing their PS3 games after they purchased a PS4...just keep the PS3. Simple as that.
fine, end of discussion...
