You all seem to be forgetting one thing here: "Regulators have linked 52 deaths to crashes allegedly caused by accelerator problems"

Look what it says though. Allegedly. Now, I'm not saying anything too in depth here, because face it, none of us were there when these things did or did not happen. But it's all allegations, and until it can be proven 100% that Toyota is at fault, I don't think it's right to jump to any conclusions. So every time someone dies in a Toyota now, does that mean that there is something wrong with the car?

The key word here is "allegedly". Nothing has been proven conclusively.

Upon reading that, I would say that yes, allegedly could be considered a weasel word. It is very vague, never really liked it. That's why I was saying in my post up there that...

Time will tell. Majority of the deaths that have been linked (yes....not allegedly linked, but linked to the deaths) were from before any of this hit the public.

A company doesnt recall 9 million vehicles just to ease the fears....its obviously a legitimate issue. The head of the company doesnt go in front of the United States Congress if its not a legitimate issue. Toyoda apologized for the deaths. No way he would go public like that if he didnt know that deaths have been caused conclusively.

There are sticking pedal issues, momentarily brake failure, and the floor mat issue. Legitimate issues. So to give the benefit of the doubt to Toyota in these cases is wrong.

Doesnt have to have had any past issues for this to happen.

And he couldnt say anything without his lawyer since he was under investigation by law enforcement- who have come to the conclusion that they have no reason to believe that this was a hoax.

Your logic is like mine on this topic. It appears that some people on here are blind to read into other errors Toyota has made .Sadly I don't surport Toyota Poor choices made and hell a own 3 of them (one on the recall list).

Time will tell what direction Toyota takes in the near future :D

I agree with everything you're saying. I never said that I think Toyota is not at fault, and I certainly don't think that all these stories are bogus. There are obviously some vaild claims here, this can't all be made up from greedy people just looking for a quick buck. I just wanted E to reply to what I said because he has a much better way of elaborating on things, and explaining stuff better than I do.
