Your most right climate control knob look a little different than what I've seen. It shows [window heater + feet] "use with" [window heater]. All the 8th gen models I've seen don't have that writing. Interesting. Do you have an early model or maybe a VE?

My car is a 2000 Corolla CE with the new VVT-i engine back then. Has around 38k miles on it.

ahhh I see now. The insignia only comes with the first initial vvti equipped 1ZZFEs of the 8.0 generation. In theory, it could be called a 8.25 gen since it's a 8.0 with a 8.5 1ZZFE with vvti. Soon thereafter, the rest of the 8.5 gens lost the insignia. I guess I'm still learning little tidbits about the 8th gens. :D Very interesting.

I propose a new class of 8th gen Corollas. The 98-99, the 01-02, and now the unique 00. I guess the old 8.5s should be moved to 8.66 gens now. LOL 8.0, 8.33, and 8.66!

Could you take a pic of your engine bay? I want to see the difference. I'm guessing you have a full engine cover.
