None of our Corollas ever had glass lights lol

But you can't really burn the plastic using a RANDOM ORBIT buffer...... but you can using a drill attachment or any regular orbital buffer, because the heat gets concentrated in the middle. With the random orbit buffer, the whole thing is always moving.

It's much MUCH better than by hand though.

Well I know the fogs are glass lol. But yeah a random orbiter would be fine.

Yeah the OEM ones... the aftermarkets are plastic of course. I'd think that glass would stand up better to rock chipping, although it can break.

I got a few more things..... Rain X for the windows, wheel&tire cleaner, engine degreaser and polisher, and hand cleaner (pumice:(

And after 1.5 years and 8000 miles (SMH) it was past time for my first oil change! Only the best oil & filter will be used, good for another 10,000-15,000 miles:

As for car progress.....I have stripped all of the old paint off of the front lip (and the gel coat this time so that the new paint would actually stick this time), and I painted the three parts using extra Subaru paint from the Corolla as a base:

And then using the correct paint:

I also was working to repair the quarter panels and rust. You can see the Bondo here used to rebuild the tail light gap (not finished in this pic), and the black primer rust-converter stuff over all the rust spots (all rust ground down to bare metal).

The other side only needed a little body filler, and then primer:

Then finally, paint! All rust is gone for good, and the tail lights fit well once more. It's not perfect unfortunately, because it's really hard to see the imperfections until the paint goes on. But it was good enough for me.

The rear bumper & lip and front lip will be put on this weekend, and I will be working on the side skirts in the mean time.

My custom projectors finally arrived! These were 11 months coming lol. They are LS430 projectors with clear lenses, modified to bixenon (high and low beam in one), and they include custom mounting plates to easily swap with the low-beam reflector.

I put it on as flat as possible, next I will try buffing it with a cutting compound to see how that works. If not, then I'll try a clear coat and buffing that.

To get rid of the scoops in the back. I am replacing the back half with the front half of the new skirts. Yeah these are $800 side skirts I'm gonna have lol.

I do plenty of Bondo lol. But I would have done that method if it were possible, but with what I wanted to do, it just wasn't gonna work. This way is a ton easier and will look much better without having tons of Bondo.

Now to fuse them together ... hmmmm

Yes, it sure will look more OEM :) I did try them on in pieces, and it just adds a touch to the sides without lowering it much. So none of the lip pieces all around the car drop the body much at all. Kinda like the TRD lip kit for the 8th gen... mine will be very very similar in purpose :)

So it's not this exact thing lol. What else would you do it on?

Yeah actually it's nearly identical. It's just a right angle piece.... and the hole is almost in the right location, just needs to be lowered a little.
