Well I made 27 LED bulbs today for my landscape lights.

In this pic, I compared the LEDs on the left and regular bulbs on the right (they are all LED now). The LEDs are slightly whiter and brighter, but a very good match!

I rand out of warm white, so I tried 2 cool white ones.... wowza. I don't think these will last too long, they are way too bright and blue

In all, I'm really surprised they all worked for how ghetto the LEDs are lol. Hopefully they last and I save some electricity :)

Nope, they were bought specifically for this :) I wouldn't use warm-white LEDs on the Lexus anyway.

Alright, finally after 3 months of nothing, I got motivated to do something to my car!

I finally broke down and bought a $35 MP3 player from Walmart so I could listen to music on my bike (I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner, biking is so much better now) but I actually like how the $35 device plays MP3s better than the $450 double din. The double din doesn't remember which MP3 you were on, and it only holds 2 gb. The MP3 player holds 4 gb and resumes playback from where you shut it off. So much more convenient than having to write the song # on my rear-view mirror with a dry erase marker every time I arrived somewhere.

So all it takes is a cable from the MP3 player to the RCA AUX in on the back of the head unit. While simple enough, it meant I had to remove all the interior pieces there, which I'd never done before so it was something new. It actually comes apart better than in the Corolla.

I washed all these parts with the sprayer, and turns out someone had spilled coffee all in the center console, as the dark brown water flowed out. I guess it's nice to have that gone, although it never smelled like coffee.

You can see the wire laid out where it will go

And here, the center console is all in pieces, but you can see the hole I drilled in the power outlet socket section to feed the wire though cleanly.

I didn't finish because I had to solder a hole bunch of connections on the head unit's wire harness, I had used lock nuts to hold the wires together, but they were loose and causing the front speakers to go in and out (way annoying). But now that that's finished, I'll finish it up tomorrow.

Oh, and I'll probably clean the interior at least, since it hasn't been cleaned since the winter and I've transported all my landscaping and plants creating a huge mess.

I just stopped caring once the garage got filled with stuff so the car now sits outside. But I'm making the stuff go away, hopefully this weekend or week, so I'll wash it up nice and start caring again with it nice and tucked away inside :)

 after your very recent username change, a compliment is the last thing I expected to see in this thread, thanks :)

Yeah hopefully after I get it all cleaned up, I'll want to start working on it again. Once the garage is clear and the car can sit inside, I'll start fixing the dents/rust on the back and paint it up, and I'll work on my body kit to look like the photoshops. Then I'll work on some custom lights.

But you're right, it's been way too long since I did anything to my car, time to get in gear. Especially now that my brother got an MR-2 sitting pretty in the driveway.

It just feels good to have something to take pics of. Once I clean it up, I should get some new pics even though nothing has changed. Just for fun :)
