That thing is going to be an even bigger bitch than the Forza/OBX header to get in. I don't trust it too. It has no brand name at all... Seems shady to me. But seriously, even if it outperforms the OBX, how much possibly more can you coax out of the motor with a header?

Will this fit a Prizm, and is it worth?

I would just have one custom made at an muffler shop. It's cost effective and gives good gains.

Seems like you're kinda confuse about the exhaust system.
The "four small dia pipes enclosed in a large dia pipe" is header
Cat back is the piping after the Catalytic Converter.
In our rolla, it goes like this

[Header]==[CAT]==========[resonator]====[Muffler]=

Usually ppl called everything after the CAT is "cat back", everything after resonator is "axle back".

So if I go with a catback system, I'll have to drop the cat converter? And if so, where would the downstream O2 sensor go? ORRRRRR, I keep the cat and install the reso and muffler with custom piping???

I see, thanx star.....man I really want to see some pix of the catback setup. I wanna get mine done at the muffler shop but I still need to find a Magnaflow reso. Magnaflow mufflers are easily available.

No, you don't need to drop the cat. Catback mean everything behind the cat, so you still have the Cat.

Allright, the Forza header just came in this morning! Next to buy is the Magnaflow resonator and muffler. I'll try and find a good muffler shop and get the tubing bent there. Any suggestions for good deals on the reso and muffler?

Something used one month would NOT look like that. Its not even complete. It looks hacked.

Used one month? Yeah right. That thing looks used and abused. I would go with a new one. That one in the auction looks like it was cut off a car and stolen.

The ones you will find at the junkyard are most likely stock. The stock resonators are subpar compared to an aftermarket one.

No point of cleaning any used reso? If I can clean it out to almost new, I'd go with the one on ebay, coz I think thats my best shot.

Yeah, that looks exactly like my Magnaflow resonator. You can try contacting the seller and asking him if it really is one. You can also use a second muffler as a resonator as well.

Does the flow rate through the cat not alter the downstream O2 sensor's (the one after the cat) readings?

If I go with a 2.5" reso, piping and muffler, would it help if I get a 2.5" cat and virtually do a full brand new exhaust from header to tail pipe? Or will it create problems with the downstream O2 sensor and stuff?

a muffler is a type of resonator.

as far as the o2 problems, as long as you have your o2 hookups in the right place and you have a cat you won't run into any problems

i have a larger cat on my corolla i think it's a 2.5 in/out magnaflow cat. or it's 3" in/out. personally it's not loud for my tastes. i have no problems with the O2 sensors with my forza header, magnaflow cat 2.5" in/out, and straight through 2" cat back pipe, and a magnaflow universal muffler. i don't have a muffler tip yet, and it's probably the reason why my exhaust is coffee can/farty sounding.

but, YOU DON'T want too large of a pipe diameter. the larger the pipes the more low end you lose. you'll have more high end, but i don't think the corolla has any more accel, in the high end past 4500rpm.

to answer your concerns, there's no problem with a bigger cat. just make sure your cat passes your country's or provence's legal emmissions laws.

here's a schematic of my exhaust

forzaheader and magnaflow cat==========magnaflow universal muffler=

the equals sign is 2" diameter piping.

what i like about my exhaust, it's discreet, and kinda has a tone, it's not all showy. but unless i put a muffler tip, then it will look kinda showy. it's probably the reason why i've been delaying my purchase on a muffler tip.
