    mine is auto 3spd... i dun like it i wish it was a manual but the car is pass down to me so i can't do sh!t until i get money to swap it out...

    Auto in my '01 LE....

    I test-drove an '05 CE w/ 5-speed and was never more disappointed in my life... the classic Toyota clutch and shifter feel was there, but the car just seemed anemic-- slower than my automatic. Maybe I wasn't used to the gear ratios, but my '94 Tercel with 4-speed and 1.5L engine is a lot more fun to drive.

    yea.. xB comes stock with a 105 HP engine, 108 lbs tq... 1.5 liter with 10.5:1 compression.. this thing is like textbook twin cam economy motor... now true, my 96 is a 1.8 with similiar specs and lower compression, but wow... i dunno man.. F heads alone aren't worth trying to make the best out of. toyota has already engineered them to close to full potential.

    personally.. if i was buying a scion.. it'd be a tC.. 160 HP, 163 lbs tq.. 2.4liter 4 banger.. have seen some with only slight performance upgrades pull pretty good. maybe up that compression from 9.6:1 to like 10.5 on up, or turbo/supercharge it..

    btw.. gotta auto in mine too.. didn't know how to drive a stick till my next car (91 crx si)... i almost did a swap that would've given me a 5-speed.. but, parenthood came along...

    you got that right.. I feel the same way.. I went from a 5sp Subaru to an automatic 05 S.... I'm currently in the love hate relationship now... I'm starting to get the hang of maneuvering though traffic with an auto but i still miss the stick.

    BTW what does a stock 03-05 S run in the 1/4? (auto)?

    I had an auto 02 LE.. man i hated the fact that my car was sooo slow .. i still beat a turboed 93 hb civic rolling from 40mph... from standing point... he had me... now the Z is a whole dif story, man i love my car..... i think after this car i would never get an automatic or anything less than 6 speeds... i love that new subaru legacy.. i'll proly get it since me and my wife are expecting, i need an extra seat.
