Hey guys, back again with some minor progress on the corolla :p
-added a tach and red backlighting
    -replaced my stock radio

anyways, I've been researching the possibility and saving up for a 4AGE 20v swap into my 8th gen but I just can't seem to find the help I'm looking for on the net
so few people have done the damn thing but nobody's posted a detailed step by step process on what they did or what parts were needed

is there someone who can point me in the direction of someone who knows anyhting about this?

Ill be back on later, I got some stuff to do at school

    1) you can't post pics from an email attachment lol

    2) The 4age is not a common swap on the 8th gen, so no info

    3) engine swaps are definitely a do-as-you-go thing, so there is never really possible an online DIY

    4) Welcome back!!!! :D

    (they don't work bro).

It is almost a direct swap, save for the heater hoses (LHD vs. RHD). It came in the AE111 (E110 chassis + 1 for hot A series motor = E111) and you have a ZZE110 (E110 chassis + 0 for a standard zz series motor = E110).

The easiest thing to do is get a half cut, (available on eBay generally) because it will come with all of the A series specific engine bay accessories (reservoirs, etc....). Make sure you get an uncut wiring harness.

Obviously you will want to get a C156 6 speed LSD trans with your half cut (don't choose an auto one). Even if you have a manual in your car right now, it will not be a good match with the 4AGE 20V. That type of engine needs a close ratio six, as opposed to a tall ratio 5.

    I'll do a step-by-step for you:
    1. Pull engine&trans from your Corolla
    2. Pull engine&trans from your half cut
      1. Do a compression and leakdown test. If all good, replace all of the oil seals in the engine at a minimum.
      2. If results are bad, rebuild time.
    3. Inspect engine bay accessories
    4. Remove those that are incompatible with the A series engine.
    5. Replace with donors from half cut.
    6. Inspect wiring harness; identify body plugs. There are two sets of these plugs on the harness:
      1. Engine bay side; for things like starter relay, AC idle up, PS idle up, etc....
      2. Interior side; these are the plugs that are not the ECU plugs and provide signals to your dashboard and other onboard computers.
    7. Find pinouts for all of these body plugs, and label each pin with the Toyota signal abbreviation (VTA, THM, OX, etc....)
    8. Find the pinouts for the same body plugs on your ZZE110 harness and do the same thing with them.
    9. Cut the connectors off each harness and play mix and match. The idea at the end here, is you have ZZ body plugs (engine bay and interior) on your A series engine harness and you can literally plug and play the harness.
    10. The signals will probably NOT be a 100% match. There might be something like two oil alerts on the A series harness, pressure and oil level. There might be only one oil alert available on the ZZ body; choose which signal you want to illuminate that light. This is probably not the case, but just an example common to 1JZ swaps going into 7M-GTE USDM Supras.
    11. Install new engine and trans with properly modified harness into your ZZ engine bay that has the correct engine bay accessories for you A series engine.
      1. I think it would be easier to do this with the trans attached to the engine.
    12. Fluid up, Crank that beezie.
