    After checking out some links you posted, im going to save you some money, some of the links you posted are not for the 1zzfe at all but rather a 4age 20v. which wont work.


    some of those things, were just gimicks. like the throttle body spacer. the cnt fuel pump you wont need, it wont make any more power with the pump. the cam gears wont work for the 1zz since the 4age 20v uses a belt, dont worry about a bypass valve, they do work, but you really dont need a CAI. i have monitered my air intake temps all summer and winter long, with my home made intake (will post pics in a minute) it is nothing more than a 2.75 pipe, 30* silicone coupler, 6in-3in velocity stack and a 6in clamp on k&n filter. the highest temp over ambient i ever got was on a 100* day, sitting in a parking lot idling for 10 minutes and it went up to 120*. but once i started moving the average difference was 4* higher that outside air temp. save the money, ill show you how to build one like mine, for less.

    as for the exhaust, the bolt on exhaust are fine if you want the look and sound. but if you want performance, which it sounds like you do, go have a 2.5in system made from the header back. buy a nice resonator and muffler and have a shop fab up the rest. you will be much happier and will get rid of the tiny sized pipe, which really chokes off the engine at higher rpm.

    since you are sounding like you want to build a N/A engine, i would suggest nothing less than the crower stg 2 cams, with the mwr valves springs, retainers and valves. for fuel management on that setup, you will want an apexi power fc and with that you will need a wideband o2 sensor and a dongle box (fc datalogit or fc hako, hako is cheaper, i have one) i would also suggest getting your hands on a 00-03 celica gt head for the larger valves and the intake manifold and throttle body. i would also suggest bumping the compression up to 11:1. it is safe on pump gas and will make a noticeable difference in power through the entire rev range. plan on spinning this engine to 7800 rpm. stock cams dont run out of steam till 7200, 7500 for me since i cheated and im using 2 intake cams. lol. those few mods will make it much more powerful. but if thats not enough for you, then i would consider looking into a c60 trans swap w/LSD. it brings the car to life. 4.5 final is no joke at all. you will hum around on the highways, but its soo much nicer to drive, its just soo responsive.

    if that still isnt enough, go big like i am. 2zzge swap. but ill be turboing mine as well.

    Wow thanks thats some very helpfull info i didnt even realize those things wouldnt work on my car guess i was just "trusting" the seller. I really wanna get the most gains for my money and i want my car to be unique but at the same time be able to hold its own. Like i said nobody modify's these cars around here so i think itd be a big shock to people lol So you are saying i can use the head off a 00-03 celica? In that case i would need to order cams and valves for a celica instead of a corolla correct?Does that mean i could use a celica ecu? And about the exhaust i know most of you recomend magnaflow, do you have a part number or link to exactly which one? And resonator? Im use to cars that you can just buy catback exhausts for, never had to get one custom made. I hate to be such a noob asking all these questions but this is my first toyota project so i really dont know everything that can be done only what i can find when researching. That intake is nice looking id like to be able to make one it looks alot more funtional than the SRI's on the market which just suck up hot air in the engine bay. I have a civic intake i may be able to modify to work. Thanks for the info and advice, good heads up.

    Noob questions don't bother us, as long as they are relevant and you stick around. Most of us 8th gen owners haven't opened our engines anyway, so this helps all of us.

    you can always get the 9th gen TRD CAI, its as nice fit but needs some little adjusting

    some other guy im talking to said it works for him but my engine doesnt seem to like it much....

    its best to get the celica or 9th gen corolla ecu and plastic manifold for it to work properly

    na, celica gets the higher RPM at 7k and the corolla one gets better mpg or something? im not sure...irvin has a thread about the ECU.

    Alright cool ill have to check into that so most common mod seems to be the 00-03 celica gt IM and TB, that paired with the celica ECU should be nice :D
