    /\ colombian dialect

we all have our distinct words and way of talking

i can have a conversation with another dominican, and a colombian would be like. wtf?

i think they only translate straight castillian spanish,

translating what he wrote wud be like trying to translate english slang into japanese, wouldnt make sense on the other side

That doesnt mean shit...you were still drinking and driving and going over 100mph.....youre boys cant take care of themselves?

He said he was going back to his friends house, because someone was starting shit with them, he broke his axles, gonna cost some money, etc....and he was only a little tipsy. And if you want to talk in spanish, do it through a PM

Still doesnt matter....going over 100?? After drinking some?

Who cares about the money...how about living the rest of your life in a wheelchair, or with a DUI on your record, or the thought that you killed someone's family member.

    Not cool dude....

Well, you did it, and told everyone about it so you can listen to everyone...

You should have told him that you were going 100mph while impared by alchohol and made a u-turn because your homeboys were about to be hit with some shit.

Then I'm sure the cop would have arrested you and you might actually have some greater concequences to face than a broken car.

But you didn't want to do that did you? So you lied and the cop believed you.

    Pussy.

i'm not spanish and i know he was talking in a different dialect. i am not defending his actions, but check your own speech and the way you e-carry yourselves.

I don't think anyone was out of line. I do agree with you, that we should give advice as well as scorn. Let's see if we can turn this thread around and give some advice.

...hopefully, jtweezy you'll read this whole post. I'm taking my time to give you some advice, for real. No B.S.

Hopefully by everyone's remarks it has sunk in that it was a really stupid thing to do. The reason why everyone has a problem with it is obvious. The first thing you need to do to fix a problem is recognize and come to terms that there is infact a problem. Then figure out how you can deal with it and make things work.

    Let's define the problem...

Driving recklessly (speeding and driving in an unsafe manner in a public roadway) endangers your personal safety as well as the safety of others.
Let's take the self centered prespective out for a moment and analyze what it would be like for other people.

You can make the choice to speed at 100mph in a public roadway. At 100mph the control of your vehicle is greatly diminished. If you were to get clipped on your rear end you would most likely fishtail and lose control. Your stopping time decreases dramatically. You are in an uncontrolled area where anything can happen.

What would it be like if a man and a woman had just left the store and were walking up to the curb just as you lost control? There's a chance that you may not hit them. There's a chance that you will.

That would be too bad. People have lives, people have families and friends that care about them. Maybe the man and woman did survive. But the man was left paralyzed from the waste down and the woman suffered traumatic head injuries and has to be on anti-siezue medication for the rest of her life.

Don't you think that would be devistating if that happened to you and your girl? Your mom and dad? Aunt and uncle? Just try to imagine what it would feel like. Think of what it would be like in their shoes, to live out the rest of their lives in pain and injured permanently. What if the guy lost his girl? Dead.

That would be enough to destroy anyone's life. Forget being happy, forget feeling good. Try to find a job that you can do while paralyzed to pay for your $800/mo medical bills.

Is their life and wellbeing worth driving recklessly?
How do you put a price on that? How do you make it worth something to yourself?

You want to feel good about yourself, everyone does.
What do you gain from it? (looking cool, feeling important or special, gaining "respect" from friends...)

So is feeling good about yourself worth possibly putting someone's happiness or even their life at risk? Only when it can be turned around so that you're the victim will you see what others are paying for your inconsideration and irresponsibility.

You've got to find some other ways to be cool, gain respect, or feel good. Sometimes it's a change in your habits, sometimes it's getting a whole new lifestyle, and usually new friends come with that. Sometime's your REAL friends will follow you.

Now, if you can see what I'm saying and understand that then think of this next.

Sure you can drive a car. Most people can. Some people are better drivers. The better drivers can have pride in that. But what makes a good driver?

Being able to control your car.

Yeah it's tight when you can rev up, peel out, drift, pull 180's and all that.
It shows you've got some skill. But the real skill is knowing where and when to do that. Knowing when it's safe. Speeding, like I said, decreases your control of the car and shortens the time you have to react to things.

We all know drinking messes with our vision and how we think.
I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. So first driving wrecklessly, then on top of that being buzzed and on top of THAT going 100mph. All of those combined are going to lessen your control of the car.

So, lack of control in a public area = putting people (like yourself, your mom, dad, brothers and sisters and family) at risk of being hurt or killed.

In theory, if we are all people with feeling and a life to live; you took everyone you loved and cared about and put their life on the line when you lost control of your car.

You put yourself at risk of really f*cking up your life. Yeah your car is broke, I bet you don't like that! Can you imagine if it were your neck? How the hell would you deal with that? Parazlyzed from the neck down, that sound like a real fun and exciting lifestyle. No more sex. We all know life isn't that exciting with sex. :D

Yeah, it wasn't that bad, but it could have been. Why do I say this? Because it happens EVERY DAY. It's as real as that bent axle and the money that's coming out of your pocket to fix it.

This is about knowing what the concequences of your actions may be and being responsible.

This is about growing and becoming a man.

I'm sure he is, but he is not going to respond here because he is overpowered. I'm betting he is off in some other forum posting this forum and trying to rally support there.
