ive seen that happen to CCWs

and being that that is a site dedicated to the 4g63 im going to assume that was a galant vr4 (without reading the post), i know what they are capable of and repeated launches with a wheel like that is bound to cause fatigue.

i think that pidgeonholing teh entire konig company simply because someone broke a wheel is stupid..

there's WELD drag wheels for DRAG launching..

next we're gonna start boycotting toyota because if you put 500HP on your stock corolla transmission, it breaks..

That's nothing wrong about Konig. Ppl broke hundreds of rims everyday, and you guys just happen to see ONE broken Konig rim out of those, then everyone of you jump in andthink that Konig is bad? If it is really that bad, you should see lot more threads about broken Konig, but do you see any?

When you buy rims, YOU SHOULD read and know the maximum load for the rims already. Rims are rated for something with "street use" or "race use". If you use light weigth rims rated with "street use", and got a heavy car and you drive like crazy and take a fast corner, you can't blame others if you break the rims.

This will happen too ALL other brands too. I saw a Sti with stock rims broke 2 rims in autoX before. Just don't drive like an @ss.

just dont buy cheap wheels if you dont want them to be bent...with the money u use to replace wheels and get new wheels, save that money and get some decent wheels that are either forged or high quality casted...i drive wit my wheels all over NY and i've even drove to NJ, CT, and MD (5.5 hour drive) for car shows and their still not bent.

sorry, but expensive wheels bend easily too..

case in point.. my friend runs OZ superleggs on his 323.. he now has only one un-bent wheel..

    then again, they're 17X7 and weigh 15lbs..

Yeah, why boycott a company based solely on seeing one picture of a messed up rim.

If that were the case, we shouldve all boycotted toyota corollas when vamps wheel came off.
    Things happen.

Heh, you had to bring up the wheel. I'm just gonna stick with my wider spoke selections as to not risk and potential wheels leaving the car incidents.

    good idea.

also - per the suggestion of someone who's a regular dragger...if you decide to drag the car with any sort of regularity, get the wheels xrayed at the beginning/end of every drag season.

if your wheels are 16lbs and are 17's, and they are by a company that is unknown, i dont know, that just seems unrealistic. companies forge or high quality cast wheels just to get them to shed 1-2 lbs and i've never seen generic brand wheels weigh small amounts; but i guess i could be wrong.

those MB wheels that tamago posted look like GN+'s, nice

the superleggras are only cast aluminum, thats why they bent, unless ur talkin about the 3 peice forged version but i dun think so cuz then it wouldnt be 15lbs and i highly doubt 3 out of 4 forged wheels bent that easily. Also i dont mean just save your money and buy EXPENSIVE wheels, cuz not all expensive wheels are good quality..like RH evolution, they make some crappy wheels but is expensive cuz people think they are Racing Harts but their not. what i meant was save your money and get some good quality wheels instead of spending $600 every year to replace bent wheels.

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure if it was the same or not. Thanks for the clarification.
