"when it shifts gears" so does that imply that you are running an automatic? just curious.

    I'll confirm it too...

And yes, I've been passively trying to blow my motor for a few months, lol....

---

5psi default spring in the wastegate
10psi low boost setting (daily driven)
15psi high boost setting (rock this quite a bit actually, lol)

stock clutch gives at 8.5psi -- doesnt always slip but is prone to slip I've actually had mine hold through 10.5psi then it just said ' see ya! ' still waiting to see when i'm gonna hurt this motor... hehe gotta watch myself tho, it'll prolly happen now that i posted about it.

---

I don't recommend running the stafford kit (which i believe isn't available anymore) over 6.5psi w/o ripping out that fucked fuel system of theirs and replacing it properly with an upgraded fuel pump, 550cc injectors and an emanage.

Mine was a custom setup by Spool Turbo (which doesnt exist anymore) that I actually re-engineered earlier this year to a different design on the manifold & downpipe (much better than before) and I haven't had a single problem (other than i blew my pipes apart once (at the silicon connectors) or twice... hehe but those were easy fixes. I've run this setup on 2 seperate corolla's and had the same results - no issues.

*shrug* there's my 2 cents

No offense but don' go lookin for a turbo kit when you don't have the $$$... No sense in having debt and plus you need more $$$ for any problems down the line etc etc etc...

yeah Spool went away - not any fault of theirs, think their funding got pulled... kinda lame --- that kit woulda been the best one out on the market... mine went in and still operates flawless (exception to the downpipe and manifold -- those are my design now).

yeah i had a bunch of stuff lined up last year until my 98 got creamed at a light... dumbass blew through it and nearly killed me. That set me back at least 6mo to a year on the motor build. At least I'm almost to where I was before. Mechanically I'm at 125% of where I was before, body styling i'm at about 25% --- doesnt really matter tho, i'm just kinda moving along at a steady pace...
