Man, I've seen your work since u owned your car, Mad props 'cause u came a long way to make it this far. I been owning my 94 corolla for more than 6 years and builds like this motivates me to continue on my longest running project. Let me know :signWhen:.

Yea spoke to Carl over the phone a couple of times, very good guy to talk to. He will be sending me some polyurethane engine mounts to prototype next month:)

Thanks Gerson, anything new with your project?

    UPDATE 01.09.09:

Fired it up today.. it actually started on the 1st attempt after 10 seconds of cranking. Sounds LOUD because I haven't got around to bolting in the rest of the exhaust system yet. Rev it a bit, got some back fire and shut it down after 10 seconds.

I had problems with the axles because the one that came with the engine was actually shorter than the stock one.. everyone been telling me it's the same size. I wanted to reuse my stock one because the one that came with the swap have some CV grease leaking out of the boot. Looks like my only option is to rebuil the axle/replace the boot. Unfortunitely I have never rebuilt an axle before.. only replaced them

Same size as the OEM 7AFE axle my ass! *//EDIT DISREGARD THIS!!! It turns out the tripod popped out of the tulip on the longer looking axle, thats why it looks longer!*
    4AGE 20V 6spd axle TOP,
    7AFE 5spd axle BOTTOM

Still need to work on the axles and the throttle cable before I can actually call this swap a success.. need to see how it drives.

    ...I'll soon get MIDWEST :D.

From JspeXAE102: Thanks Gerson, anything new with your project?

Not at the moment. I'm saving up 2 buy another Toyota or Lexus, and then the real build begins before the year ends. So glad i work 4 Toyota so I get my genuine Items ;)

BTW, Get the boot kit from the 7AFE axles, it may work. I rebuilt 5SFE and 1MZ axles from Camrys and Avalons

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The boot is on order and my buddy is coming by on monday to show me how to replace the CV boots, i'm sure once I seen it once i'll be able to do it with no problems.

I see you moved to KC, good luck on your build man. I wish I had some hookups at my local Toyota parts dept. I hate getting raped everytime I stop by for parts.

you can use the same axle or get the 3-piece one from a Levin... the one with an intermediate axle... ;)

dude, how much were you able to get the BZ Touring Koito Headlamps? I overlooked this pic... nice!!!!!!!!!!

That's the driver side, i'm using the OEM AE111 axle on the passenger side since those arn't sold in the US.

It turns out the axle I was tring to use had the tripod yanked out of the CV housing.. that's why it was longer. The left axle is in fact the same as US spec.

I got the koitos straight from Japan. BNIB from Toyota Japan, costed about 350-400 shipped. I didn't want to get the Depo ones because people been saying the plastic turns yellow easily.

I am planning on getting a set of custom axles in the future. How much do you charge?

SWEET, i'll contact you when time comes..

got the car off to a test drive today.. it's really hard to keep it under 8K to break in the clutch properly.. also still have to do some exhaust work since the header wouldn't bolt up to the cat..

I had a fujitsubo but switched to a kakimoto... the issues is the header wouldn't bolt up to the cat because the header flange is way bigger. I had the shop next door make some modifications so that it will fit but it is still too loud!!!

I'll pop the silencer in later but i doubt it will do much. Until I can quiet it down I wouldn't be driving it too much.

I'll make some vids sooner or later.. arg school starts next week and I haven't had a day to rest:sad:

thats guys.. popped in a silencer today and it seem to help quite a bit. Won't be anything new for a few months.. Classes starts monday so i need to get my priorities straight. Look for more updates toward the summer. There are some more recent picture I will post later.. my buddy has the pics on his comp and he needs to edit them or something.. you know those photgrapher types... I just resize, sharpen and upload LOL

I won't, but if I did you guys would come up on some really nice parts. It's kinda weird that everyone before me who has done some major powertrain mod end up giving up their project (SSGuy, Vamp, etc). Hopefully it wouldn't happen to me. However I would sell if someone offers me around 10K.

I will be @ SF JTown Feb 8th if any bay area guys feel like rolling by.

too much.. I don't like thinking about it.
