First off...wow, your car is coming along nicely! Hopefully mine will be 1/10th as nice when I'm done. ;) BTW, what Canadian company did you buy your swap from? I'm looking for a GZE / BT for my AE100.

Awesome build Jspec! I wish mine will be 1/10th as nice when I'm done. BTW, what Canadian company did you buy the engine from? I'm looking for a GZE / BT for my 7th gen wagon.

It's one of the companies in Montreal, don't remember their name exactly. Prices wasn't too great but they're the only one who had a swap with a 6spd tranny. I recommend going through JHot, their prices are way better and the swap is more complete.

    Sure thing kevin!:)

That is awesome dude, definitely job well done. Mad props dude, wish I would've had enough time and money to dump into the white 8th gen I had.

    thanks guys..

Just working on wiring this week.. nothing really worth taking pictures of. I decided to wire-tuck all my aftermarket wiring within the fender wells to keep everything looking as clean as possible when i'm done.

Spent last week tucking my fog lights, gauges, and other accessories wires in the fender well. I also installed by aluminum dual row radiator and oil cooler for poop and giggles. I think it looks pretty cool. You might notice the oil cooler is in place of the AC condenser, I decided to delete AC since I live in northern california and I only used it twice last summer..

I also spent some time replacing the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, distributor cap and rotor. And my pullys arrived from NST so I put those on.. waiting on autozone for the correct belt.

This is why I paid a premium for my swap.. The C160 6spd LSD tranny.. I'm in the process of cleaning it up before the swap.

u should see it now, i just got done polishing it.

yea... the 4AGE interchange the position of the alternator and PS pump.. I like how the 4/7AFE has it set up better tho, easier to replace the alternator and shorter power steering lines..

You don't have to put JDM in quotes because the healights I have are actually from Japan.. Made by Koito for Toyota. So calling them JDM headlights are actually correct:p
    [IMG]

The wiring is easy.. Simply pick up a H4 harness from Nokya (pepboys have some too made by some other company), wire up low beam (+), high beam (+) and ground (-), plug in the H4 bulb and youre done.

that easy, so its an H4 bulb? how long did it take you, im liking it because the US spec clear lights look gay because of the ring separation inside for low and hi beams, i think im gonna go ahead and do this, thanks man

Yup, easy as that.. It's a H4 bulb and its usually included with the headlights. I could actually do a full install in 15mins or less but I used to be a car audio installer and taken a few classes in engineering circuit analysis so I do this stuff in my sleep. PM me if you have any questions.

    UPDATES!!!

installed TRD Japan short shifter.. what sucks is it has a slight angle towards the driver in RHD cars so it has a slight angle towards the passenger in mines.. Still working on the wiring, need to wire up the power folding mirrors and re-wire the alarm.

SWEEEEET! Did you buy it off of ebay? I remember seeing one swap on ebay that was located in Canada that had almost everything, including the front struts and everything.

    Thanks Dustin,

Mayur: yea I kept my eyes on that swap for the longest time but it was calculated to cost about 2800 shipped. I contacted the seller and he told me it had no LSD so it was the deal breaker. The one I picked up costed a bit less ut the swap wasn't as complete. But it was all good since most of those parts were to be upgraded.

    UPDATE 01.08.09

Unfortunitely I did not get far enough to do the initial start up today.. I ran into some problems that I had to work through. Things are going slowly since i'm doing everything on my own:sad:

Carl @ Speed Source was nice enough to make me a custom steel braided clutch line so I installed that first

    All wired up

    flying the engine in

    In its new home

Dr. Tweaks recommended using a mid 90's tercel throttle cable so I got one from the local junk yard.. it's the correct length but unfortunitely the threaded portion wasn't long enough which doesn't allow it to be adjusted. Also the unjacketed portion was not long enough either.. the thing has to be modified in some way or I have to find something else.

Other than that I just have to
    -custom make a fuel line
    -install spark plugs + wires
    -install radiator hoses
    -install header
    -install axles
    -fill engine oil
    -fill gear oil
    -bleed the hydraulic clutch

should be able to get it started tomorrow.. hopefully.

Looks like you painted the block too, very nice :)

And yeah I've met Carl in person from Speed Source, he is a really great guy and knows his stuff like no other.
