That my friend is over priced. You can get one anywhere from 400-800 depending on who you know.

It depends on a lot of factors. If it is a COMPLETE swap (everything down to the axles, fuel pump, shifter cables,) or just a motor, tranny, harness, ecu, or just a motor and tranny, or just a motor.

Here are the prices in the current market conditions:
    Complete swaps go for ~$1500+
Motor, 5MT tranny, harness, ecu go for ~$900+
motor & tranny go for ~$600
motor ~450 (the 5spd tranny don't add much value because its mostly 86 owners buying em)

Also the 6spd tranny complete with the shifter cables and axles add another 1000 to the value because of the rarety (so thats a clue to how much I paid). Believe me it doesn't get any cheaper buying them direct from Japan. The 6spd tranny cost 600-800 over there!

For our cars its advantageous to get the most complete swap as possible. Afterall the Levin in Japan is just a 2dr corolla and the everything swap over directly to our chassis including small things like PS and AC lines.

came off a 00 celica gt-s.. the airbag wiring had to be soldered and heatshrinked to a 93-99 plug in order to work.

Hey did you reuse your airbag from the old steering wheel when you put in the new 3 spoke Toyota steering wheel or did you have to buy the new airbag to go with it?

I see... so the only problem was the physical size of the airbag right? The airbag does not have to be specific to the steering wheel does it? If I wanted to go from the 3 spoke to the old 4 spoke steering wheel, the 3 spoke airbag could be reused in the 4 spoke with no problem since the 3 spoke airbag is physically smaller, right?

You really have the best 7th gen I've ever seen. Period. Its not just the fact that it looks absolutely flawless, but that you put so much time and effort into it to make it right. Nothing looks hacked, everything appears to work, the body looks immaculate. You did it mostly yourself! I have a lot of respect for that. GREAT WORK!

no worries guys, this thread should see at least one update per week.. I'm still waiting for my harness to get back to me and the pullies I ordered from NST to get here.

Pedro: I decided to go with the NAMS bar because there were a guy local selling them and I jumped on them.. also they cost $200+ from japan! I will get some other Ultra Racing bars in the near future tho, but its unbeliveable how much prices have gone up over the years. About 3yrs ago kenny (sxlostv1) paid $80 shipped for a set of UR fender bars!

MovieSTAR: Unfortunitely my company don't deal with used engines so I had to pay retail to some company in Canada to ship one to me. But some companies I would recommend is JHOT imports and JARCO.. I never did business with them before but they were very helpful whenever I did contact them. Call them up, they'll hook you up with a complete swap.
