It actually been 3 1/2 months since I blew it. October 1st was the last time I drove it. But I was involved with building a car for SEMA so I didn't get a chance to even touch it until 2 months ago. Then I had another 2 cars to work on so I didn't have time to work on the corolla until last week. Swapping the trans took a good day and a half when doing it by myself and only having help to lift it into place. The LSD on this one actually feels stronger. I can feel it pulling the car out of corners more than before. It's hard to avoid not driving the car hard, afterall that's what I built it for.

    Here's a "during" picture.[IMG]
Used a 2x4 to support the engine when pulling the trans out. Never done it that way before because I usually pull the entire assembly out as one unit. But I wanted to avoid draing fluids and disconnecting hoses so I tried this method. Can't say I like it much better because lining up the input shaft with the clutch plate is a bitch.

glad to hear you finished up your 5spd swap.. yeah the rear mount is a bitch! I chose to just drop the subframe instead of pulling some acrobatics.

I saw your car on Onthelow. Best corolla I've ever seen. Where can I get JDM bumpers? I live near Stockton so anywhere close by is cool or a great online site. I just want to start building my corolla too.

yes that is my old coworkers blog. Thanks for the compliment. About the bumper - unfortunitely the shop[ I got it from stop importing from Japan. The exchange rate was just too crazy. Perhaps you can try contacting JDM20VAE101 on this fourm. I think he has some connections with getting JDM parts.

    Small update.

Everytime I pop the hood the ugly factory wire loom bothers me.. So I took a cue from the Honda crowd and re-loomed most of it using mil-spec heat shrink. Raychem DR-25

Although this might not look like much it was actually about 15 hours of work since I had to de-pin every wire from the connector and put them back. If I were to do it again I would order a fresh new harness from dr.Tweak to begin with. Unfortunitely he did not offer this service until a few month after I completed my swap.

I also finally got around to working on my brakes.
factory rear brake line vs. Technafit steel braided line. It was a perfect match.

The clearance was pretty tight (about 2mm from the top edge of the caliper) so I added a 5mm hubcentric spacer.

Painted the rear calipers too although I kinda half assed it and missed a few spots. Nowhere near as clean as Jorge's.. But at least I didn't do it super half ass and painted my brake pads.

That's exactly what I was requesting him to do with my Harness + Relocated fuse boxes and some things more like Tucked Type and add a Quickdisconector...
