I learned how to heel-toe in my flip flops not too long ago.

Back in like 03 I had a picture of my shifter as my sig with "God's gift to the stick shift" underneath! LOL!

yeah lol im heartbroken. i got a signal from another rider to get off the highway too late and i went down on gravel cutting across a lane. Bike went down at about 40 mph onto the left side, it threw me off and i landed on the left side of my head, rolled once or twice and popped back up like "nothing". the crash was mostly due to inexperience though. I saw the curve coming, i froze, and tapped the brake just enough on the gravel to initiate the wreck.
I'll take pics when i see the bike later in the week, but i've already bought the parts to fix it (stator cover, gear shifter, rear fender, windscreen = $400). I'm going to leave the cosmetic damage though, might try vinyl on some stuff. The frame slider saved the bike though, thank god for them.

Yeah, that's what the frame sliders are for! Good thing you just bounced back up, it's always amazing when you do that (I did it on my road bike once, although not at 40mph than god lol)

Well I've managed to narrow my nearly 10,000 pics to my favorite 100 that I think represent my trip around Iceland the best. Here goes, not necessarily in any order.....

This was my first (four) flight ever. It's a different feeling when your speeding along and suddenly you aren't on the ground anymore. Simply amazing.

Various cool waterfalls around the country... these are everywhere, and the water is all perfectly clear/cool glacier runoff:

Seeing the glaciers themselves was also cool, you could see how they formed the valleys as they retreated:

Most glaciers still had lakes at the bottom, filled with floating icebergs:

We went snowmobiling on one... that was definitely the highlight of the trip. Nothing like flying 60mph over vast expanse of snow all to yourself:

So, the cold water in the country is provided by all the pure glacier water (and it's very cold lol), but all the hot water, heat, and most of the electricity is provided by natural geothermal activity.

Here are some pics of some power stations and water pipes:

And we found this hilarious site out in the middle of nowhere, literally. This shower runs 24/7, and there's a toilet obviously. Just goes to show how available clean water is.

Blue Lagoon and similar sites are hot spring pools filled and maintained with naturally hot mineral water. We bathed in two.

Various other geothermal phenomenon. It's like another planet here. The water just boils constantly, thick sludgy stuff that reeks of sulfur.

Geysir was pretty cool.... this erupts constantly at approximately 5 minute intervals.

LOL right? I didn't get him in this picture, but there was someone walking to it with an umbrella haha. Keep in mind it was 50 degrees.

Now for some general scenery pics as our small group of 6 toured the island. It's amazing how varied the landscape is.... one minute, going through lava fields, the next through mountains and valleys, the next through miniature forests, the next through flat farm land.

And example of volcanic craters found here:

This was a huge crater we climbed. Lots of hiking and climbing in Iceland lol:
