Holly shit, $115 for a wheel cover!!!!!!! Are you talking US$ or Canadian$ ? I hope your talking Canadian...

I only paid $115(US) for my fucking 17" wheels. Dealers are so gay. I wonder how much the parts guy would charge you if you wanted to punch him in the face... I could just it:

parts guy - "The price on that'll be $5000."
customer - "You've got to be kidding me, I feel like punching you in the face."
parts guy - "If you would like to punch me in the face, that will cost another $5000, plus delivery charges."

    (sorry, im bored, lol)

    The deed is done!!

It took me about an hour to take the mouldings off, including the ton of sticky stuff left on the car. I used a hair blow dryer and a bit of fishing line. The fishing line wasn't very effective, but it helped get each piece "started." I mainly just applied heat, then pulled on each moulding with gentle pressure until I had each one all the way off. Not too tough at all.

Much tougher was getting the sticky stuff off -- I tried a few things like Goo Gone, and those didn't help a bit. Again I turned to the heat -- I just applied heat again, and just rubbed each piece off of the car with my fingers. I finished up with my favorite Toyota "bug and tar remover" stuff, which got any remaining gunk off the finish. Then, I just washed and waxed the car, with very good results. I did this in the evening, so the light wasn't the best -- I intend to go over the areas one more time with a clay bar or something this weekend, just to make double-sure I've got it as clean as it could possibly be.

Here's another picture, all in hopes of giving you a better idea of what it actually looks like:

Without the mouldings, what you really notice (at least with my dark Indigo car) are the reflections. This also shows the Altis chrome grille, of course, plus the obvious fact that I'm not quite going for the same kind of look as you "S" guys are! :p

One more picture, from the other side:

Hehehehe. This weekend, I'm going to hope for some real sunshine, and something more interesting to reflect, and then I might have some decent pictures!!

At any rate, I'm definitely happy with the "clean" look, and man was it nice to wax the car without those dang things in the way!! :p

How about a couple more shots for the fence-sitters? Here are two shots from the driveway right after I finished the job:
