Help me, will 17' make my car slower

    guys, the threadstarter never asked for opinions on Rotas vs. Volks... :D

    and NO you won't feel the difference if you switch to 17's. Actually, the overall diameter of your wheels will be the SAME as your stock 15's.

    17"s = more alloy and less rubber
    stock 15"s = less alloy, more rubber
    Overall diameter = SAME

    You follow?

    Only if he plus sized correctly. And depending on what wheels he goes with....it will weigh him down more. So yes, it MAY slow ya down in the long run.

    You have to consider that it is more weigh towards the outside of the rim (the lip and actual part that sits under the tire contact area) which is not where you want more weight. The best is to have the weight towards the center.
