Has anyone "dared" to run with 16x7 +35 on 98-02 Corolla?

A barely used set of wheels are being offered to me at a good price. They are 16x7 +35 with 205/45/16. I have a '99 Corolla CE lowered on Tein S-Techs, Tokico HP, Tein adj. front camber plates, Hotchkis sways (f&r). I know I will have fender issues but how much fender work are we talking about? Is it just a matter of rolling the fender or are we talking about major fender modifications? Thanks in advance for your help.

I've run that backspacing and wheel size on TRD springs with KYBs - had to roll the fender lip in to get it from touching the wheel. If you have OEM style mudflaps - you will have to cut off the portion that runs along the fender lip - will be real obivous of which to cut off if you drive a bit and it touches. I found that it is not much of a wheel issue as tire choice - since a 205/45-16 tire from many manufactures vary slightly in dimensions for tread width. Example - I first ran with some Yokohama AVS ES100 tires - rubbed the fender like a mofo - swapped with a Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 tires, which are slightly narrower, doesn't even come close to rubbing. But I rolled the fender lip anyways to make sure that I could run a different tire in the future.

    Off topic.
Since you are lowered with Tein S-Techs and have Hotchkis sway bars. Will you scratch the sway bars when you go over a bump?

Eh I would but they are already put away in an area that would take hours to get to. They are in my shed all the way in teh corner under a bunch of shelves. Then there is tons and tons of crap between that and the door and Im lazy lol. If you want to wait until the spring when I get em out Ill measure the offset.

I believe the 16" TRD rims have a +45 offset. I just need to make sure the +35 will work even with minor fender rolling/trimming.

mine are 215/35ZR18 w/ Velox Progear PG-C7 18' wheels, they have a +44 offset and i had to roll the small inner lip of the fender and the rear mudflaps as described above, but it no biggie, simply took me 20 minutes for both sides.

Another thing i can't do jack shit to my camber since the wheels are bigger than normal, but it don't really hurt the tires as much from what i have experienced, i rotate them pretty often to hame as much even of a wear as possible.

i used to get rubs till i rolled the lip in and now it don't rub anymore, just my tires sit up and inboard alot, but the handling has increased substantially though.

I used to have 15X7 +38 offset and they rubbed until I rolled the fender. Then I got TRD rims and they fit perfectly tucked and also making the car lowered since it is tucked more. I find that offset is more of an issue with wheel gap than the fender rubbing. With the fenders rubbing, you can roll them. But if the offset is poking out like with my +38, the wheel doesn't tuck in and that generates a bigger ugly wheel gap.
