haha , ok mister physics , lets talk about parasitic loss , and mass.

a 350 whp ff car that weighs 2300 lbs. > a 300whp awd car that weighs 3500 lbs.

do the math genius. ff , has less parasitic loss , less mass , simply equals faster than awd (more parasitic loss) , more rotational mass , and more weight mass.

sorry your not the only physics person here. and from the looks of it your just going into it , mean while im in my late second year :D

i mean in all seriousness , im putting down a little over 200 whp , and 220wtq. my rolla ways a mere 2180 with me in it , thats 200 lbs. less than a eg civic hatch. the most notoriously popular beginners track , and strip car. i can pull on a stock evo 8 simply because he has 271 crank horse power , and out weighs me more than 1000# , and has more parasitic loss due to awd. so do your "physics" and get back to me.

so obviously , if my "minescule" 7th gen can do it , i dont see the car im building TC to have much of a problem. TC's rode in my car and can vouch its quick . definitly has quite a suprise factor to it. and again thats almost 150 less whp and wtq than what hes gonna make.

to make things simpler for you , cause obviously your a NOOB to performance and physics , ive already mentioned my whp and wtq ratings , and have stated in another thread my 1/4 mile time of 13.14 with a r/t of .54 and t/s 109 mph. so here is a list of stock cars and their quarter mile times. , b will be in the high 10's/low 11's when complete.

    enjoy:D

Rofl, you are not going to smoke evo's and sti's. The end.

    stock. who races stock?

350whp ff @ 2300 < 300whp awd @ 3500 simply because it is too much power going to the front wheels. how are you supposed to lay all that power out? you didnt factor in to your equation of parasitic loss the effect of the steering, and weight distribution, and drag coefficient of your 'miniscule' 7th gen. incase you dont know what happens when you accelerate...your car pushes back, off the drive wheels of your FWD car. BTW I did do the math. you need +650whp to do 10's in a FWD car.

    and for proof.
    http://www.modacar.com/car/Honda/Accord/

that is barely into 10 seconds, with 689whp.

good luck getting there with half that.

dude do it then tell me i cant . yes from a dig awd will kill. but rollin run were traction plays no part , give me a break. sti's and evo's are not the almighty in the tuner world , ride in one and youll see this , better yet drive one. yes there quick , but theyre also a pig. also weight distribution , seeming as all the weight in a corolla is in the front mostly over the drive wheels , i dont see a problem with weight distribution. coefficient drag? once again give me a break research for yourself , and youll see that the evo and sti both have more than the 7th gen corolla. thats one of the reason a stock 7th gen got almost 30 miles to the gallon new.

come into the real world and DO before you say it cant be done. or go back to playing pokemon and beating it to porn. ive been in the toyota game since 1999 with a 94 prizm , and am now on my 3rd ae100 chasis. besides what do you know you drive a stock 8th gen. woohoo 85 hp to the wheels . you obviously wouldnt know fast if it blew your doors off.

wow , you need to read your own link. the car for one has a full interior and is a pig considering that body style civic weighs at almost 2700 lbs. stock corolla base model 7th gen weighs 2315lbs. article dude can only run 8" wide slicks in his class , and the article also says its "heavyweight". stock b-16 tranny=long ratio gearing , no matter what final drive ratio is. 4agze e-58 tranny is close ratio , and high final gear (like a tranny on a bike) the compressor is a huge t67 meaning dude isnt really spoolin or seeing boost till he reaches above at least 3700rpms, and we all know honda's do not have low end tourque even when bored to 84 mm , lag city. where as b's car will start boosting by s/c before 2000 rpms and will carry a consistant 14-16 lbs, till the turbo spools around 3500 rpms and carries over 24 lbs. well into 7000rpms. also might i point out article dude is in a "class" with that car. when you build a street car , there is no class , you run what you want to. no 2 cars are alike , so in all seriousness you made your self look like an idiot with that link.

just give it up captain. you obviously don't know what you are talking about. the sad part is, we are more than willing to teach you. the corollas are completely underrated and can be badass if you know what to do to them.

you are still not going to be running 10's in a car with 350whp....and until you post timeslips i highly doubt you are running as fast as you are. i dont give a shit if my car isnt fast, i dont go around boasting that i can 'run high tens with 350whp in my corolla'

i didnt say we were , i said were expecting it. get it strait. you must still be drunk.

as far as boasting , whos boasting? i know what my car will do , ive built it from the ground up. im not a kid just bolting on the hottest intake and header. ive been into engines , i build them , i grew up in racing , too many unfortunate mustangs, civics, tegs, camaro's and etc. have lost money the same way your thinking , "its just a corolla"
you see the way its looking now is your in a fantasy world , or it must be the lack of oxygen at such a high altitude , come down to reality, please , and spare yourself from an e-barrassment.

here you go , your all mighty subies and evos , your simply puttin pussy on a pedistool.

i personally know this person from PR funny this corolla has a little over 400hp in a 7agte , looks like he was running 10's . . . . .and whooped an evo at the same time , and the evo got a jump.

interestingly enough , this guy has the exact setup 4agze i do , but in a car thats a litle heavier with full interior , looks to me he ran a 13.8 in the 1/4

    hmmm. all motor fwd street civic , kills sti. . . . . .

please save yourself and come to reality , and just listen to us that are out here doing , and not just watching , or reading.

    2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII 5.1 13.5

interesting , looks like the evo 8 is running a 13.5 , im running a 13.140 hmm , but yet i have 150 less hp than the motor im building for TC? no , he wont touch a lancer , your right . also i didnt say that 350 was all the motor was putting out did i , i said thats the DD goal . theres room for lots more.

tell ya what , go on importatlanta.com , and ask around about a white corolla 4-door 7th gen , and i bet you get the same reaction from half the population "its fast as phuck. . . . you better have at least a 13 second car . . . dont attemp it with a honda"
simply because them guys know , and have seen it take many of people by suprise.

im done , no point in beating a dead horse , get a little experience under your belt , then holla back.

cant bore the 4a out no more than .20 safely without getting the block decked and sleeved. 83mm is the max piston diameter before you start getting into really custom $1k+ modifications. even 83mm is really risking the cylinder wall strength , and head gasket seating.
