    Not sure of the new 4th gen Eclipse - but remember the original one in the mid 80's. Mitsubishi Motors and Chrysler Corp co-created a new division, Diamond Star Motors (hence DSM) in 1985. The DSM plant was built in Illinois and produced cars primarily for the US market only. First cars at that time were Mitsu Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser.

    hey when the eclipse 06 is still a concept on the Mitsubishi site it says on the bottom: " designs are copyright of General Motors" always look at the bottom

    i still want a response to this:
    you're contradicting yourself here. you just called GM the "dark side" before...so which is it, good or bad? and you did just demonstrate how fine the line is separating "imports" and "domestics" - it's just a badge, now.
