I can agree with you to some degree on that. You have just described group #1 that I outlined earlier. I understand where you're coming from though and yes, a very LARGE group of people fall into that category. But you can't just make a generalization about it. It's like saying that all people who upgrade the exhaust on their cars are ricers or all people who mod cars illegally street race... It's assumption and judgement based on the actions of a large (not always the majority) group of individuals and its not entirely fair.

However, playing devils advocate here, you can safely assume that a couple of shaved head punks driving in a large 4x4 with a huge confederate flag streaming off a pole that is a danger to low flying aircraft while rolling down the highway are indeed a bunch of racist fucks. :)

Ok, i am from northern VA. I own a rebel flag. I am not racist in the least. why do i own a rebel flag do you ask? simple:

the majority of the people who fought on the side of the confederacy were poor volunteers who were defending their homes from the invading army of the more industrialized north. all these people wanted to do was raise some crops, smoke some tobacco, make some moonshine and have a good time. My family had been in virginia since the 1600s... and the cherokee that are among my ancestors had been in virginia since the beginning of recorded history.

my ancestors marched under that flag to defend their homes. most of them were simple farmers... not plantation owners.

to me, the rebel flag is a symbol of how important your home is... and how necessary it is to defend it against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

i stopped displaying my rebel flag because of prejudiced, biggoted, ignorant people who think that just because i own a piece of cloth with a certain pattern on it, that i must be a member of the KKK.

This is such a lovely example of the true "heritage not hate." I can't stand it when all these little 12 year olds are running around screaming that.

Example: I had to drop something off at my work today and on my way back this monster of a truck with the most massive confed flag pulls up next to me. The kid starts laughing at my "little import" Revs his engine a few times, turns on his music *go figure it was 50 cent* Throws me the west side sign, then flips me off. I guess he was trying to show off for his girlfriend *rather, sister* in the front seat of his truck. I don't condone street racing usually, but he didn't see me after I hit second gear. *Oh, the best part of this story...the kid lives a few streets down from me in a wealthy SUBURB*

Either way, what happens when this new fad of being a redneck goes away and its uncool again? What are all these 16 year olds going to do with their '83 Chevy trucks? Just curious.

Yeah, when I had my truck before my rolla the back bumper was all mangled from pulling/hauling stuff around. Only thing I see trucks used for lately is flying a confed flag...

Trucks are usefull and all, but if you don't need one, then whats the point?
