Yeah, I decided to instead of reengineering my Corolla (which is in my opinion the economy car in the market that gets great gas mileage and still mantain above average performance) to be an all-purpose car and instead use the car for what it is. My Corolla will be my gas sipping daily driver which is what I need now in my current stage of life. Maybe later I will pick up a performance oriented car to play with when I have a mid life crisis. Really, it is best to use the car for its purpose such as trucks/SUV to haul stuff and people, Prius/Insight for ultimate gas saving, Corolla/CIvics/Sentras/Focus for excellent good gas milage with average performance while being practical, Lotus/Covette for track and racing, Minivans/SUV for soccer moms, Lexus/BMW/Mercedes/Cadillacs for luxury, Buicks for old people, and exotics for showing off.

If you want the challenage to make your Corolla fast, by all means go for it but you need to know what you are getting into.

i was complaining about the same thing. why do some of the members here continue posting if they dont even like toyota anymore? this is an enthusiast forum and it doesnt make sense to just spread pessimism.

It doesn't have anything to do with liking or not liking Toyota. It's about the Corolla not having enough potential to deserve money dumping upon it. Don't get me wrong. It's a fun car to drive. Toyota in general is dropping in standards though here in the US. Toyota is still kick ass in Japan and Europe.

dont get me wrong i still like toyota. they make great sadans and SUV's. it just pisses me off that they have noting that would intrest me, im still in college and if i am looking for a car i want one that will be fun to drive and something that looks good. Toyota delivers great cars to those who are looking for something safe( dont get me wrong i want this too), has good gas milage, reliable, and can carry their a whole load of kids that are ready for their their soccer game. great for a 30+ year old but not for me.
toyota i still love ya but for the love of god make a car that is somewhat fast and sporty. and turbo that bitch! lol
