alright got the HU installed. one question, the orange white wire from the head unit says lighting switch in the manual and the orange white wire in the harness guide says dimmer. theres also an orange wire in the harness that says illumination. which one does the orange/white wire from the HU go to on the harness? i attached it to the orange/white on the harnes. dont know if the dimming works though, i'l find out at night, but if someone knows please post. thanks. also the install kit is ghetto, it leaves big gap after the head unit face plate and the end of the comaprtment but i can probably pull the head unit out, i'll see. also the bottom small compartment has a gap between the trim and the kit. u'll see when i post pics. might just put some silicone glue to stick them together

Mine doesn't dim either. I looked at the wiring diagram for the Corolla and I don't think Toyota provides a dimming signal wire. I don't remember, does the original radio dim?

I'm 90% sure the lights on my HU (7500) are always on, but I just don't notice them during the day. I'll check later today, see if they come on when I start the car or only if my headlights are on. But I'm pretty sure they're always-on. The exception of course is when you turn off the stereo. I think. You know, I don't look at my stereo all that much, I mostly hear it =p
