Engine CAI - Dont Worry about Water

    Get enough water into the engine compartment regardless of your setup and you will have issues. A question to consider though, if you get your filter wet but not enough to hydrolock, have you washed off any of the oil from the gauze? The filter material only does part of the job as far as filtration, the oil does much of the trapping of particulate matter. Its reasonable to assume that get your filter too wet too often and you are reducing the capacity of the filter to properly clean incoming air. The result might not kill your engine immediately, but will definately reduce the life of the engine.

    the oil will repel the water for the most part.............not enough would wash away to make a difference.
