    no, the Shelbys did exist. eleanor didn't...that was something made specifically for the movie. note, i said THAT shelby...because it was entirely custom. hell, they didn't even use the right year base to create her...they turned a 66 fastback into a "67 GT500". now don't get me wrong, that's probably the sexiest version i've ever seen.

    Shelby GT500 and 350 were both made in the US, and there were a few hundred 350s used as Hertz rent-a-racers back in the late 60's.

    remember...i = classic mustang nerd.

    not a problem.

    if it's pre-1970, and a mustang, then chances are i either know about it or can fix it.

    Oh really?? So you can fix cars?? That is pretty neat. I have never looked beyond what one can see in the hood.

    My lady friend has an 04 Stang GT, and I hate the damn thing. Hard to get in and out of, rides like shit, not as many amenities as my Rolla and cost too much for what it is.

    Give me my Corolla any day! Just my rant....but I could be wrong.....:)

    well it's a sports car...heh...they're not SUPPOSED to be comfortable. then again, anything newer than 72 with the name Mustang just isn't the same as the originals.

    the commercial is kinda funny, pretty good advertising idea to me, but the girl seems dumb b/c she's supposed to. i'd act stupid too for the paycheck.

    any mustang after 72 is a piece of $hit... the older 60's models were real muscle cars... not these 5000lb heavy ass pieces of crap they put the Mustang name on nowadays. but like the earlier post, V6 mustangs are not 'real' mustangs in my book... they're slow as hell, even my stock 90 Si hatch kept up with them and usually beat them. and convertibles??? wtf? pointless.... *shakes head*
    I may like imports, but the old domestics had some balls. but nowadays, i just don't know...

    RO - they were heavy back then, too...and generally had almost less power...just more torque. i think the real problem is Ford started spending too much time in bed with the europeans(Focus, etc), and therefore really lost touch with the reality of the situation in the US...and unfortunately, the mustangs will continue to sell no matter how ugly they get, simply because of their legacy.
