I think I did, just forgot. I miss it =[ I miss the corolla. My neighbor digs it though. He's got a 40 mile commute both ways and he used to have a Tundra. I have like a 5 mile commute so I rarely drive anymore unless the weather is bad.

    Ok I'll take that one.

So as some of you may know by my post in hondaboy's thread, the shroud kinda popped off the projector in one of my lights:

Kinda hard to see how bad it was off. It wiggled its way in front of the light, reducing my light spread. No good:

Ready to go in the oven:

    Remove lens:

Whatever the dude used to hold these in wasn't good enough. You can also see how much of the shroud had to be removed to make it fit the housing:

Since I already had it apart, I used this time to switch out the OEM 13 year old lens for the 3 year old aftermarket ones I had. You can see it is much more clear than the original on the right:

The new lenses and fixed shroud make it look better. Plus they are so much brighter at night, I was very surprised:

    Like a boss:

Next up is to smoke the housings, but I'll do that another time:

So, now do you have to do the other lens to match?

And of course it's a lot brighter without the plastic covering it all up! Good job.

Well yeah I did them both at the same time, but I focused my pics on the driver's one, since that had the issue. They are both now with clearer lenses. But judging from your sentence you made it sound like I might run the lights with no cover at all?

When I read that the first time I thought you were talking about the lens covering the front of the housing, but I now know that you are talking about the shroud being in the way hahahaha

Yeah, I'm not sure how any light could have made it through the shroud lol.

i don't think they had that in mind when they built our corollas, they assumed grannies would be driving no faster than 35mph

ive never driven a 98-99 non vvt-i but does not having vvt-i make a huge difference? like when i step on my corolla the rpm jumps to 4-5k but still does 0-60 in 9sec:( can the 98-99 do that?

The VVT-i system selects the ideal intake and exhaust valve overlap under all engine operating conditions. VVT-i virtually eliminates the traditional compromises between low-end torque and high-rpm horsepower. It also helps enhance fuel economy and reduces emissions so effectively that it eliminates the need for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) emissions device. I would rather have it than not, maybe if my corolla was equipped with VVT-i and a 5spd I would have liked it a little more.
