98-02 TRD Muffler is still available for $250

That's what Mario told me. Actually, he told me to call back on Monday. So I don't know when they'll have them....I WANT MY TRD MUFFLER!!!

i've paid david already, but i haven't gotten word back yet. i'm beginning to get a bit worried.

Don't worry, I see no reason to lose faith in David. Just give him a couple days.

Lol, I wanted it as soon as he had it ready, I didn't even give them enough time to box it...I just threw it on the back seat and drove through the 2 hours of traffic on the 91 FWY back home.

Installation was a B*TCH.

I raised the rear of the car and blocked everything off. Then I removed the two bolts(screws) that connect the stock muffler to the exhaust pipe. Easy enough...so far. Next, I crawled underneath the stock muffler to remove the screws on each side of the muffler that connect the strap. I loosened both of them, then w/o warning the damn muffler snapped off the strap and fell on me! Luckily I was holding it up w/ one hand and managed to push it to the side as it fell.

Then came the hard part...removing the rubber hanger. I broke the plastic caps off after trying to pry them off for a good 30 minutes. Then I spent another hour just trying to pull the rubber hanger off the two prongs. David (Hoolala) gave me the suggestion of using WD-40...but I had just run out...three months ago...so, being the genius that I am, I used Extra virgin olive oil (that's the extent of my cooking skills). With a little more effort the hanger slid right off. So, I go and shove that rubber piece into the TRD muffler hanger and spend another 30 minutes trying to push it back through the two prongs (this time w/ the TRD muffler actually attached to it, which made it even more difficult). Tomorrow I go to the Toyota dealership to buy the two plastic "retainer" caps that I broke off today.

Evaluation:
HOLY CRAPT! I LOVE THIS MUFFLER! It was worth the money and installation effort. The sound is awesome, so low and....and..."rumbly".

Ok...the first one sounds exactly like the Corolla TRD Muffler, but the second and third files don't.

are you on stock pipe? any engine mods? can you PLEASE get a sound clip

When I first begin to accelerate the muffler can be heard in it's "low-grumble-rumble" glory. After I hit around 3250-4500 rpm the sound of my intake (ELP CAI) takes over. O gawd I love it....I'm gonna go for a drive again...for some reason (I guess it's "breaking in" or "curing") I smelled a weird odor after my first drive around the block...well it was suppose to be the block but ended being 5 or 6 blocks...but anyway I'm gonna go and try to drive the smell away....

LOL, I just heard my muffler outside and I looked to see a celica driving by...man I'm a huge dork...

I was an ass and I called at least twice a day, everyday, since Thursday.
They wanted me to get off their ass so as soon as it was ready I got a call telling me to come pick it up ASAP. Mario asked "do you need it boxed?" Me..."NO NO...no..it's ok I'm already on my way, really I'm almost there...just have it ready for me!"

I'll go pick mine up tomorrow then What time do they open???

haha, i'll give it a little while before i become an ass! But thanx anyway, also for the people who got theirs already did it come with the TRD certificate? Good to know in case i get pulled over for it being too loud, I can show the cop it is legal.

Ya that was me I was picking up my muffler. Thanks hooolala! Just so you guys know that smell when you first put the muffler on is your bumper burning.

I just got mine...while I was pulling out of the driveway there was a black corolla on some TRD rims...was it anyone here?

It did come with the TRD certificate. That's the MAIN reason I bought the TRD exhaust

I got my muffler today. Installed it in 1 hour. that shit rocks but it smells like crap for right now. and yeah , i had to pick up justin's (RollaRyder1103) muffler too, lazy bastard . it's a b#tch to install cause of the hanger it has. i broke off some plastic washers that were holding the rubber hanger on but the rod that supports it is circumcized so itll hold on good. It sounds low on idle, but 2000-4500, it sounds awesome. whoever didn't buy one, you missed out.

The only reason I haven't installed it is because I don't have the stock piping anymore so I need to take it somewhere to get done

I ordered mine on october 25th and still no word if it got shipped, i got a reply from him like 2 weeks ago saying his vender was busy and he's going to ship it soon, but its been weeks!!! this sucks! LIke i can wait but damn its takign forever, I want it installed b4 thanksgiving!
