    another H3 try

alpha-vvti, I was tempted to try the PIAA Super Plasma H3's but the order was taking too long to get. Apparently they are rated with a 5,000 k white colour from them. They are $10 more per bulb. Something to consider if you want brightness/colour/function (blue like HID colour). I have the PIAA Super Plasma H4 on my 85 Celica and they are fabulous. I don't find the Ion Crystal that much brighter than stock, just was after the IS300 look. Maybe, just maybe, I'lll save a little more money and get the PIAA Super Plasmas, and keep you posted. For your information, here are the part numbers for the PIAA H3 bulbs and site: http://www.piaa.com/h3bulbs.html

    Ion Crystal: 13555
    Super Plasma: 15561

...hmmm, the Piaa Ion yellow bulbs don't really seem that yellow. Perhaps like my Osram All Season they appear more yellow (even though they look more yellow straight on) in inclement weather and also project a pure yellow beam (which can be seen on the ground, solid objects, fog, or in a reflection)? I don't have any pics, but here's an image from VWVortex from someone who has them in his Jetta.

...I never get to really see the entire yellow beam b/c my Silverstars kind of shine right over it and I can't operate my foglights w/o having the low beams on.

Sleekaman, I think most likely I am gonna get the Piaa Ion Crystal or the Osram All season H3 bulbs, coz i reli want the IS300 look
white on low beams + yellow on fog lights

hey Syndicate, long time no talk :)
we are back to the similar topic as last time hehe
i remembered i watched the video clip that you mentioned to me a while ago
and the Osram's are pretty yellowish too...
So if i want the IS300 Fog light look, should i go for Piaa or Osram?
so how much are they approx.? i couldnt find them in Kragen or the local stores
can u tell me where i can find them plz, thanks in advance

PS: the pic that you attached is RELI yellow, that looks great

...I would go w/the Osram b/c they are cheaper and if you don't like them you're not out of as much money since they're only say $30 for a pair. Just be mindful that w/any whiter headlight you probably won't see much of the yellow except on the sides...people in front and behind you will see it though.

...oh yeah, how to get the Osrams. Sorry I forgot, you have to order them from this company in England called Power Bulbs. The shipping is free and they may send you an extra set of white wedge bulbs, they sent some free Philips Blue Vision wedge bulbs w/my order but I couldn't use them anywhere so I gave them away to a friend.

    Osram = Sylvania right?
i wonder why the all season bulbs are not available in the US
btw Syndicate, what is the Watt for the bulb do you know?
and what is the color temperature of all season's? (coz they looks so yellow, just wanna know)
coz i dont want the ones like 80W+, which may burn down my whole relay or sth
i want the ones with 55W

...yeah Osram and Sylvania are the same company. The bulbs are 55W just like the Sylvania H3s they replace and the color temperature is around 2000K-2500K.

....ahhh the foglight bulb replacement question, again. It's simple, look under your front bumper at the fog light assembly and you'll see a nut securing the assembly to the bumper, remove this and then just slide the entire assembly out of its opening. Dissconnect the harness and then remove the original bulb and replace it w/the new H3...just a quick note, H3's lock into place w/a spring style holder so the bubls are very easy to change once the fog light itself is removed from the car. This shouldn't take any longer than 20 minutes. granted it took me a while to do b/c I did it in the snow and water during December and I'll never make that mistake again.

...on a side note I received my Sylvania rebates today.

okay... u make it sound way easier than toyota described on the manual
did you talk about how to replace the fog lights b4 already? hmm didnt know that
anyways, Sylvania rebates for ur SilverStars? i am waiting for my rebate as well...

...yeah the foglight thing has been discussed at least three times, but I don't mind helping out when I can. It seems like it took forever to get those rebates though (more than eight weeks), it's only $20...but $20 I didn't have before

...changing the fog light bulbs is easy, I didn't say it was convient and it's going to be hell once my car is lowered

...look at it this way, to change a fog light bulb on the Celica requires removal of the front bumper.

its not really necessary...how often do u use ur highbeams? if almost never...then its not necessary to shell out $40 for the 9005s

oh yea, well i called around my town, piaa's are 79 for the H3, and i checked the site that was given earlier for the osrams. i'll probably find some other white bulbs for the fogs, i was just trying to think if white and yellow or white and white would look good on indigo ink color

I want the chromes bulbs as well. I dont like the housing glowing blue from my marker lights when they are not on. the chromes will make it all look good, but still allow the color you want to shine through when you use them.
