its interchangable... but i think you are looking for a skid plate, the under panel by beatrush is a thin aluminum.

I can order it for you but you would end up paying $50-$75 more than if you ordered it from a US authorized dealer

My projected cost for making a cooling panel right now is around 30 dollars each. I still have no idea how much an under panel would cost to make.

Dude, if you're so strapped with cash that you have to consider if its worth buying yourself lunch, then you shouldn't even be thinking about buying this shroud. IMHO.

I still have to make the prototype. It's going to take some time. Plus I'm in the middle of getting my wheel bearing replaced. After the cooling panel, THEN I'll start on the under panel.

That's the idea. I have the cooling panel template ready to go. The prototype should be done within the week. The under panel is going to be a bitch to draw schematics for.

do you really need a radiator shroud for the corolla? would it not help more just getting a bigger radiator and fan?

You do have a point. But then why would companies like C-One and Beatrush make cooling panels for the AE111? A 4AG is similar in size and power when not force fed.

    The 20V 4AG has 40-50HP on the 1zz.

Once I have the prototypes, I'll see if they really make a difference or not. I'm just doing this from an enthusiast's point of view. It's all trial and error. I guess I might not make them for anyone else then.

I'm aware that the blacktop makes around 160 hp. However, would it really benefit from these plates too? If there's a market for it, it's there for a reason. In America, everyone is trying to make a quick buck. In Japan, I don't know. Do they make products backed with R&D and quality, or just to make money?

not sure about the AE111 but on the 86 and 92, there was a bigger gap between the radiator. air can pass through a lot easier. same with my car. if you come over or maybe a the meet, i'll show you what i mean..

anyway, my original point was supposed to be that spending 80-100 bux on a shroud made by some known mfr is a waste. I'd rather spend 300 and get my self a new better radiator..more cost efficient i think and gain more performance. the shroud would be nice if you can get it for like 30 dollars. thats how much i paid for mine.

I'll be able to make one for just around 30 dollars. If it doesn't do much, oh well. LOL :) At least I tried and hey, I'll be unique.

If you read the link I posted, the cooling plate makes more of a difference than a dual core radiator.. It doesn't matter if you have a tri core radiator, it is useless if air is not passing through it, which is what cooling plates help with.

but oh well I have both plus a separate breather tank.:D

Paying the extra money is paying for a more aesthetically pleasing piece. Unless you have a full machine shop you cannot cut, bend and round corners with sheet metal like the big guys can.
