    Yeah this is the biggest in a long time, but not ever. Their buildings were way more prepared to handle the energy from earthquakes than Haiti was.

    yeah they even have tsunami warnings where i live. crazy stuff, but it wont hurt us. its affecting the current more then anything and creating deadly rips.. lol but eh

    it was supposed to be at most 6ft is what they predicted...well 3m...still that is hardly enough to get up the beach at most places.

    It's not the height that can be an issue with tsunami waves, it's the fact that they move 25-45 mph that is the problem. They also don't break at the shore like normal waves. They just keep going.

    have you seen some of the beaches in hawaii?

    a lot of them on Oahu have hills you have to hike down/up to get down to the beach. surges cant get that high. Also, a lot of them have beach walls or groins

    that break the waves/surges up before hitting the shore. because of the way the waves rap around the island in certain areas. The main problem is in Hilo, where they also have a break wall that was put into place in 1960 after a earth quake in chile killed 40 people. They say the breakwall helped subdue the wave.

    anyway i rest my case :)

    lol yeah dude I've seen some of them, and I know it's not a problem for the most part in Hawaii... But have you seen some of the beaches in San Diego? That's what I was meaning. But it's cool, you rested your case lol
